I love your channel, I mean, I want to be a scientist in Japan and I wasn't sure if it could be possible doing that and being a trans guy (this is still my old acc bc I'm starting to change things and to transition right now). Your videos brings me hope to one day get what I want and what you are doing it's so much important bc there is (almost) absolutely nothing on the internet about being trans or LGBT in Japan. Keep on going!!! I hope your channel grows and that LGBT rights expands further more in Japan through the years

Your point of view is different than others t-guys and I like that. Can you made a video about where you live? I like to watch the streets, stores, parks, etc because I don't live there, it would be nice. I'm short too but in my country there's a lot of short people, sometimes I'm taller than cis-men. (excuse my english).

I think you'll find you'll be accepted here in the US if you ever move back. Appearance and voice count for a lot - and you really do pass 100%.

Congrats on your 6-year mark. I'm glad you are feeling so comfortable with your decision. I think you would find a difference in the States now that you've physically transitioned though we still seem to have cultural differences where pursuit is more intense and direct. It's been reported, that in Japan the drive is becoming less so and career is seen as more important. Sorry that the age perception thing is bothersome. I'm sure that will improve with age. :)

(sorry, something went wrong, had to repost haha) I've lived in Australia basically my whole life but my ethnicity is South/West Asian. I really relate when you speak about feeling inadequate and being treated as though your younger or just not as overtly masculine in social spaces. I used to live in a really multicultural part of Australia (Melbourne) and I felt far more comfortable there because there was such a diverse range of people so differences were more so accepted. I had to move to Canberra for university study and be it sporting events or going to clubs I always become hyper - aware of how small or feminine (we tend to look so androgynous hey? haha) I am compared to other guys. Sometimes there are certain things that other people do when they interact with me that signal that they aren't treating with the 'level of respect' they would of I'd been a lot taller, had wider shoulders or I suppose just looked more 'white.' My fashion sense is also more fluid in terms of what constitutes gender binary (which to be honest shouldn't really come into play in what you want or should be allowed to wear anyway), so I think that also adds to the differing treatment I get in social spaces, particularly at parties or clubs. I think Western society is more rigid in what it prescribes as what is a 'man' and it seems to value an bit of an aggressive form of masculinity that can be visually interpreted through someone being tall, muscled and hairy (best I can manage is some scruff under my chin and a light moustache haha). I'm always telling myself to not bother too much about their opinions, dress how I would like and to have a good time but you know, easier said than done.

+Reza Mazumder hey there :) thanks so much for your feedback, I appreciate it. definitely understand how you feel about that, I've always felt like I was lacking something and always have felt small unfortunately. I think in general we asians tend to look very young compared to full caucasian people for sure D: wow melbourne sounds really awesome. I was actually originally going to go to melbourne for working holiday but ended up going to brisbane back in 2013. brisbane didn't seem as diverse as I thought. I felt a little isolated when I was there. oh yes definitely we tend to look more feminine for sure. yes exactly! I know exactly where you are coming from. that seems so disrespectful and I am sorry to hear they treated you this way.. yes and I think we should be free to wear what ever the heck we want. no one should judge us on this. I think in western countries people are very judgemental with what people wear. for example in Japan people dress very nice on most occasions and people don't tend to judge people's fashion as much. If you go to places like harajuku its really neat with all kinds of crazy styles! yes and western countries have this image of what is considered masculine and what is not. Its very different from asian countries. haha yeah it definitely makes me wish I had more facial hair. yes I completely understand. there is a lot of pressure for sure in society still today.

+JesseW213 (sorry I keep posting with a different account by accident lol pardon me) yeah makes me a bit envious of guys living I'm Japan since they can be free to experiment and express different fashion styles without being judged so badly hahah. I actually have a first video (I made some before but I deleted them) that'll upload sometime later today (you know how long it takesto upload I assume lol), so feel free to check it out (maybe when I have more than one video uploaded it'll actually be interesting lol). I'll probably talk more about what's it like being a transguy in Australia, Melbourne and Canberra in particlar. I agree about Brisbane. I find places other than Melbourne and Sydney tend to be weirdly more conservative about things. Thanks for such a responsive reply :)

+Reza Mazumder no problem :) yes that is very true, and many guys are sooo fashionable here and I admire that so much. like a boy wearing pink is not even a big deal at all. (bad example) :P haha but no one assumes anything. though at the same time japan can be very sexist and closed minded about gender. so its strange! oh thats awesome ill definitely check it out, let me know when you have it uploaded! that would be interesting to hear! how long have you been on T? yeah I felt brisbane was quite conservative.. D: np anytime!

My video actually just uploaded but omg the quality is so bad, I need to buy an actual camera :( Haha it's fine, I understand. Yeah, I feel like even today people are so odd in the double standards they hold about one gender compared to another. I've been on T for 9 Months now. It already feels like it's been a long time but it's nothing compared to 6 years, which just sounds insane to me (in the best way of course haha).

+Reza Mazumder hey reza! I just saw your video, the quality is fine :P I am sorry to hear you went through a tough time before starting T and also at your university. Its not easy to be trans and I am so happy that you feel more comfortable and going towards recovery since you've started T :) you look great by the way! (to me you look very masculine) I totally don't haha compared to you! I completely agree yeah its very strange! haha you will get there in no time it was a pretty fast 6 years to be honest, its crazy!

thanks so much! wow thats so cool that you want to become a scientist in Japan, I admire you for that. I love astronomy and science myself. its very possible! regardless of whether you are trans or not I think :) yes unfortunately, there isn't a lot of resources for trans people in Japan so I try to help people as much as I can. thanks so much! I appreciate the kind comment ~

JesseW213 hahah so you and I might get along well bc I want to do physics (specially particle physics, cosmology and theoretical physics) and I love astronomy! I am thinking about going to The University of Tokyo using MEXT, but I haven't started transition legally cuz here in Brazil things are bureaucratic af (to start hormones you need to pass through lots of exams and go to a psychiatrist and a psychologist for 2 years, besides the process to change gender and name legally which is way longer...) and I was wondering if you could say how it is to start the procedures in Japan and if it is ok for a foreigner to do it (sorry if it is a lot ^-^)
@JesseW213
@JesseW213 7 лет назад
thats super awesome! wow it seems very complicated in brazil, thats insane :o if you are not a japanese citizen you may not be able to change name and gender, but you can start the process of starting hormones by seeing a doctor at a clinic that treats trans patients :)
