My favorite genre, I always love co op. The heartbreaking part is so many of these games are couch co op only. However I'm grateful to have any options at all.
What an amazing and comprehensive list, Luke! We really appreciate all the work you put into it. Lots of fun and interesting titles, for sure. The only games I can think of that you may have missed are Tonight We Riot and I Am The Hero. You pretty much covered the whole genre on the Switch though. Thanks again, brotha.
I own Mother Russia Bleeds but haven't yet played it, I love Scott Pilgrim though, played through the original release in one sitting lol, great music too.
Man, "Raging Justice" is such an underrated gem. No idea why this game is so overlooked, since it's a super solid, unique beat'em up! I've made a pro run on it, if anyone's interested, it's on my channel.
@@SwitchStars It's just a little different from the usual classic formula, but once you get the hang of it, it's super solid. I guess, many people overlooked it because of the visuals too.
Great list. A lot of work went into this. It’s appreciated. You covered a lot of games I never heard of. The kind of games are on the eshop but don’t get covered.
The Takeover is my favourite on Switch and among my favourites ever. Code of Princess also doesn’t get enough airtime it seems, perhaps because there is a learning curve to it that is unique. Raging Justice was one I was really excited for in screenshots, but god damn that one is awful. Great presentation, but terrible game feel. I love the rest of this list though, as there are a few on your top ten that I hadn’t heard of that look pretty awesome. Great video again as you continue to surprise with coverage on titles I would otherwise completely overlook.
I didn't realise how many there actually were on Switch, my list just grew and grew 😂 definatley a lot that I need to play though, the Takeover is one of them. I did see Raging Justice had mixed reviews, it caught my attention with the visuals and it looked a little old skool jank lol. Cheers Scott.
How is he adding the river city games all at the end like they’re some sort of afterthought of a brawler?! Those are THE BEST beat em up games you could play on the switch!! Like definitely top 5 and arguably number 1! That’s crazy…
🤣 that's the great thing about having an opinion. I just try to highlight a bunch I know are decent, then compile a list of the rest, I couldn't rank them best to worst though.
I can tell you Switch has amazing deals! Great indies and awesome beat em ups I purchased a game from trying demo I , key words, "I" thought it was so good and crony funny! Laugh out loud funny ... Skinny And Franko Fist of ... Ah, I forgot, but it was super fun! Soon, Mad streets, I'm buying ... It's a physics based beat em up 3d world . It's kind of an abandoned game, but what's there is GOOD! on pc.
Heyo. Ive texted your praises in this forum before so once again thank you for all the time you spend making amazingly concise and fair videos. Do you do any art, music, programming or whatever?? I just started working on learning how to program for the PlayDate and because I respect your opinions and stuff I just got to thinking... If maybe I figure how out how to program maybe we could throw some shit and hopefully it hits the fan. One way or another, thank you for all the enjoyable content. Ryan in Minnesota U.S.A.
Hey Ryan, thank you. I actually do all three to certain degrees, though mainly music composing as a hobby and scripting in work to create power apps, but I've done a little Java and Python before. Not heard of PlayDate before? Any good?
@@SwitchStars I've downloaded SDK playdate, just type that in and look at their development tools...It appears to be C++ but with more object oriented programming. I seriously couldn't tell any difference now that I'm 40 and went through 10 years of becoming no longer addicted to drugs. I thought that maybe my struggles in the last 10 years would only benefit this product.
Please note that the Dawn of the Monsters footage showing the game run at 60 fps is inaccurate, the switch version runs at a choppy 30 fps, which is weird considering the game's almost low poly art style. A definite disappointment for me.
As is the case with most e-shop trailers, the footage is probably taken from the PC version and it's a joke that Nintendo constantly allow this to happen. Thanks for the info though Moi Moi, appreciated.
