Hey Folks, amazing video & information, saw your couple of videos on Japan, I wanted to know few things if you can answer as i am planning a trip in Nov 2024. 1. How many days maximum one can stay in japan on tourist visa, As i saw videos for 10 days, can we stay more then that? 2. How early do you suggest to book flight tickets? 3. JR pass is recommended? Or spending direct will be more cheaper? 4. Are there homestay / Hostel available for family, do you recommend? 5. What's the overall budget for 10 days trip for a couple? 6. Is shopping worth in Japan? If yes any recommendations where to shop? I know a have asked too many questions, Thank you in advance.🙂
Hahaha! Indeed many questions! 1. Usually with Japan Tourist visa, one is allowed to stay upto 90 days. However check your visa once, duration would be mentioned in that. 2. As early as possible! Usually 2-3 months in advance is good. 3. JR pass entirely depends on your plan. If you're visiting just Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka then JR pass is not beneficial. If you're going to Hiroshima or other cities then JR pass could be beneficial. We didn't take JR pass though. 4. Yes hostels are available but they get booked quickly, so do reserve them in advance. 5. Again budget depends on your preference! But Japan overall is a bit costly! 6. Shopping in Japan is totally worth it specially for Electronic items. Tourists get extra 10% vat off on already cheaper Electronic products! Hope this helps!
You might be able to buy the 2 day pass from Narita airport (check the metro ticket machine). However, it wouldn't cover airport transfer as pass is valid for Tokyo metro (also not all lines are covered). So depending on your plan, see if it makes sense to buy this pass!
We travelled to Japan in Autumn season! You would be able to buy Kyoto day pass from Kyoto station itself. There is a separate counter for this pass inside the station!
@@rollingfeettales Hi - so this bmobile sim is available at the airport and train station or a particular store? And they activate it for you on the spot? Physical passport required?
We bought our sim from Haneda Airport's Bic Camera shop. No passport etc required. Just insert the sim to your phone (do carry pin to open sim slot) and you would be good to go! No additional steps required!
Yup our mobile phones worked in Japan as the chargers were of the range from 100-240V. Since Japan operates at 100V, our chargers worked there. However, you should check your charger's voltage (written on it) to be double sure. It should support 100V.
Yes, welcome suica cards can be used on all JR lines in Japan! However for Shinkansen (bullet trains) you will have to purchase tickets & suica card tap will not work.
10% tax discount in Japan is applicable on everything that you purchase!! Minimum amount to spend is ¥5,000 (₹2500). Just carry your passport to avail 10% discount on the final price! No additional process to get refund, you get on spot discount!
Good news is that you will find Indian restaurants almost in every area but usually Shinjuku & Shibuya have more number of restaurants! Though Indians restaurants thode costly honge!
