My family settled in Surry County back in the 1700’s. Before he passed, my grandfather (moved to Chesterfield County, Virginia after he returned from WW2) took me to visit the old homestead still owned by my Great Uncle Virgil. Seeing the Hodges family burial plot that went back to those times was pretty deep for me. They saw a great deal of trials and tribulations over the course of time. I’m going to make a point of going back soon and I’ll definitely visit this establishment.
I really enjoyed seeing the Dairy Center and these local owned cafes like this in Mount Airy and in Oklahoma we used to have a lot of cafes like this and still have a few but not as many as they used to have i really enjoy your tour of Mount Airy especially about Andy Griffith and seeing his childhood home across the street from the water tower that was great Thank You and i wish you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow and God Bless You.🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲👋🙏👋🎵🎶🎼🎼🎶🎵
It's not a sloppy joe and it's not a burger. I thought I had seen pretty much all the sandwiches out there but...by golly...you proved me wrong. A ground beef sandwich made the Mayberry way is a new one on me. Thank you for that.
A Great episode! Everyone is good at patronizing restaurants as customers, but not many people really know or understand the behind the scenes goings on.
I know a town like this!!! It's in northern Utah!!! Brigham City!!! Main street is still all of the original buildings!!! Local drive in called Peach City!!! Food is delicious with homemade shakes to order!!! Candy store in the middle of main street called Idil Ilse!!! Just outside of town but still in Brigham City a indoor restaurant with outdoor car hop called Maddox!!! They raise all the beef and chicken right there in the back pastures!!! It is so dang cool to visit!!! Especially in the summer!!! I think you guys would love it!!! Great vlog!!! Thank you so very much for sharing it with us!!! God Bless Us All!!!
I grew up eating there, knew the original owners, walked thru the parking lot to jr & sr high schools. Always stop by on my return trips to MA, just good food!

I went today and loved it. I’ve passed this place my whole life and never stopped. I got the ground steak and onion rings and of course ice cream. I spilled my drink but the waitress had it cleaned up so fast. She told me it happens a lot don’t worry about. This will be a favorite of mine from now on.Thank you for sharing John.
If any of you are near Gainesville FL. try Hart Springs camp ground and go to Atkins barbecue in Bell. I have a good friend going thru the cancer ordeal now so take care.

I've been there twice and everyone I met could not have been nicer, ask a question they do not know the answer to, they will go out of the way to find some to help you with one exception. I asked no less than 5 people where the nearest ABC, AKA liquor store was and not one had a clue.
