Very Rare Sixties Girl Group Sound with a bit of Doo-Wop Linda And The Pretenders It's Not My Will 1963 B side to Believe Me. ( Assault Records - 1879 / Assault Records- 1880 ) Written, produced and arranged by Eddie Singleton. I much prefer the A side, as it's more Northern Soul and my thing, but that's already on here several times and this is new to RU-vid. I wasn't massively keen on it at first, though it's growing on me more after a few plays. I do like the male backing and I really like her vocals. She reminds me of a female Elvis Presley, the way she uses her voice like an instrument. I can hear another song in the tune and intro, possibly "Tears On My Pillow" I can't quite work out what she says after "It's Not My Will" I thought it might be "That I'm Beaten" then other times it sounds like something else lol. This 45 sells for mega bucks, it was once up for auction and the opening bid was $700. I have seen it for sale here in the UK for £315, that was a few years back. Linda also recorded Bad Apple / She Went Away on Shrine Records as LINDA And The Vistas. I absolutely love "She Went Away" her voice on it gives me chills. "What Could I DOOO" "But I Blessed The Day That She Went Away Cos When She Went Away Little Boy She Left Me Yoou". Twiit Twwoo lol. The first group picture is of LINDA And The Vistas. Her full name is Linda Tate and she was married to Alex ‘Sonny’ Campbell, the bass singer in the Vistas. "No Matter What The People Saay. I'm Gonna Love You Anywaay"
