some tips for the game: -you can give them water every 5 days, soup every 10. -until you get a certain radio event telling you its safe, always send family out with a gas mask or they will die(either initially or overtime). -its beneficial to nab mary jane and timmy as they cant die as easily -suitcases can allow you to bring more stuff - always try to avoid doing anything with weapons as they break -day 40+ bandits come, stock up on weapons and locks -pancake quest is something that's beneficial to do he costs 1 soup, 1 first aid kit and 1 flashlight. he gives you a free pass when it comes to bandit attacks. -axe,radio, cards, and flashlight is important to the story and can help you find the military ending

I think when you use the suit case it allows you to bring more stuff with you, like you can bring it and a gun. Thats why it opens up more *X* spots. I could be wrong.

You didn't give Dolores a gas mask so she became ill. Also technically in a survival situation, morale is about as important as food and water, because without morale, you don't have the drive to survive. And why bring the suit case and not use it

It looks more like the suitcase is used for carrying multiple items out into the wasteland rather than bringing them back. So gun + ammo + torch + map for example

John you can bring up to four items on the expedition and the suitcase it 4 slots as well you could have sent the man with a gun ammo and a gas mask and the suitcase and he would have brought you back four things and wouldn't have been hurt at all

I'm a simple man, you're Jon, this is many a true nerd, this is the way I like it.

Timmy is the best for scavenging The daughter is better when she mutates which will indicate on the log It will say that radioactive spiders or scorpions can't remember which one but leave it be Wait three days to feed and drink , on the fourth they die The wife is useless That's about all I can tell you P.S. The mutated daughter only needs food every few days, log will indicate when she needs to eat.

TIPS IF YOU WANT THEM, IGNORE IF DON'T Also, the girl, Mary Jane is quite useful. If she gets infected by getting bitten by a spider, she becomes a super mutant. She becomes immune to radiation and doesn't need to eat and drink that much.

Here are some tips, choose to ignore or listen, your choice. I wouldn't explore on the starting days. Due to the radiation, the gas mask could get ripped, or the person gets sick. It would be better to go on like day 15 if you really need supplies.

I don't exactly remember how but the large sister/ daughter she can become a mutant, and she is really powerful when she does, like she doesn't really need to eat or drink and she can go scavenging. I think its with mutated spiders. Maybe rats. I'd look it up to be sure. Also ration the food more and water more. I think the people have a higher chance to get sick until the message says its safe to go up. Please make this a series I love this game. Be careful who you open the door to. Also great vid

People aren't kidding when they say Jon has perception -1. The videos are fun to watch, but infuriating as hell sometimes. He doesn't do it in this video, but it's really bad when he then claims something is badly designed when he's missing something that's clearly signposted.

Also, feed people soup on day ten, then day five. "Water" them every five days. Expeditions will mess up this efficency, but are necessary.

Hey there Jon! I never make comments on RU-vid- so I'm happy to use my annual comment on this video. I've subscribed because I found an article that linked to your Fallout 3 Kill Everything Run- and I still laugh when I think about poor Butch and his mother. Your voice is very relaxing and I never feel like I have to run to turn down the volume on my speakers. I didn't know anything about this game and was interested in seeing what it was about when you uploaded this. And this video was so GOOD! I was completely hooked on the gameplay. I loved how you would calculate what to do and talk out your though process to your audience. I had the video on at work and even my co workers- who usually ignore what I put on- were glancing over and asking questions. I put it the game on my Steam Wishlist, and I was really sad to find that I couldn't find another part by you. I tried to watch Kubz Scouts- as what was recommended in the sidebar, but could only last 3 minutes of his disgusting commentary, before I clicked out. I never ask another RU-vidr to play a game- as I know you have your own agenda, and requests can be annoying, but please Jon, if you ever get around to it, know that I would absolutely LOVE to see a part two, or even adding certain challenges to this game. I love how the game basically says "this guy has what it takes to survive in the wasteland" and you just turn him into a jerk than sends his family to their death

at 10:30 they have a perfectly good carboy in the corner and they're wasting it on water storage rather than fermented drink

Ok, Jon. Though you ignored all of the previous messages, hope is all I need to write this one. Since I'm a phd student in economics (with pretty advances math) I have watched some other vids about this game from the other people to gain statistics and I built an optimisation model. I'm pretty much convinced that about 90% of all the items are feasible to collect if you follow the next algorithm. 1. Sometimes there's heavy stuff on your way. Use free 10 seconds to move it away or break. I don't know if it's possible, but I guess it is. 2. Take the "best starting position". The BSP is the farthest point from the shelter with supplies. It might be counter-intuitive, but the idea is that if you start from the closest point you will end up with a situation where you have to run far away and backwards. If you start from the farthest point, you will do this trip just once. 3. After the first long trip, you have to run in all the rooms subsequently, starting from the closest rooms. Don't even think at this point, just grab everything you find, because you have time. 4. If you searched a room and still have free space, sometimes it's better to bring it to the shelter straight away, sometimes it's better to go to the next room. It depends on the distance to the shelter and amount of stuff you have. I'm not suggesting you to do the calculations all the time, so empirical rule is as follows: with 3 free hands you always go to the next point; with 2 free hands you go for the stuff if it's not much farther than the shelter. With just 1 free hand you do only tiny deviations. I would say that if a length to the thing is three times smaller than a way to the shelter you go for it. I calculated amount of things and I can say there're about 35-36 things. People who don't optimise still collect 20-25 things. With this algorithm you'll probably collect more than 30. Also, it turns out that your daughter might become a supermutant, so she's always worth to be taken. I hope this advice serves you well.

nice to see its not just Fallout 4 that you make survival mistakes a lot..."The Suitcase can be used in an expedition to allow the member in the expedition use 3 more items in the fallout shelter. It should be considered as a priority during the scavenging section of the game as it can dramatically increase the chance of survival." as far as I can see just from GUESSING using my brain and also looking at the wiki after... the suitcase lets you take more things out on expeditions.. its nothing to do with the amount you can bring back.. it increases the chance of you getting better stuff while ur out or the chance of losing more things while out.... unless someone can tell me otherwise.. thats what it sounds like its for...
