Some may not know this, but tonight is the 34th Anniversary of the 60th Academy Awards which ACTUALLY took place ON a Monday, just like tonight. I watched it(which also was my very first Oscars show that I’ve ever watched(and only one so far..)but I just got to say…WOW!!!! The class in Oscars here is sorely missed, and also proved that you didn’t have to do dumb gimmicks in order to boost ratings, and everyone could have fun. So…to those listening, watching, or reading this, Thank you so much for giving us great laughs, thrills, chills, tears, and ALL of the above! Hopefully The Oscars can be taken seriously again instead of Political-Party Bashing by Hosts, like it is now because you clearly don’t see that here. Shorts things short notices, Thanks for everything 😊🥇🥈🥉🏅🏆..and to those watching…keep dreaming big;)
The Academy Awards doesn't do great montages like this anymore, it's now nothing but Jimmy Kimmel's dreadful unfunny bits. or some other bad host making fun of the whole show, What the hell happened?
Hollywood dumbed down since the year 2000. That was the year I tuned out and only watched the best bits from the show. Lately, there is none. Most of the movies that win now are unwatchable (La La Land, etc).
After critics slammed the 1989 Oscars, everything changed in the 1990s. They stopped saying “And the winner is...”, they started playing annoying rush music if a winners speech went on for too long, they started focusing more on the red carpet and the host than the films themselves. Oh, and the 1990s made Harvey Weinstein the king of Hollywood. Or should that be queen?
The oscar show is not big on reminiscing anymore. Last year was the 90th anniversary and there was barely any clip of past shows or movies. Hollywood past is "problematic" to many in Hollywood today so they avoid bringing it up.
