This is an overview of the 600 mile initial break-in service on my 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 650 KRT ABS. It was a very easy process but if you are uncomfortable with any part then just get it done at the dealership.
Oil change kit was purchased directly from a Kawasaki dealer but you can also purchase it on amazon (the washer will be an after market version):

Same bike, fairing fasteners tend to backout over a few thousand miles, use some blue loctite and its easy enough to take off for oil changes ect just re-apply each time and you’ll be golden

Great assessment/ demonstration bro 👍🏻👍🏻 Also, what brand of sliders are those on your bike? Do they make ‘em’ for the rear as well?
@genxjya
@genxjya Месяц назад
@louierivera7512 It's the Womet Tech Total Protection Package. Here's the video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qw-uUvCnqPE.htmlsi=EwIhP0Yfld4F13fp

@louierivera7512 If you want something cheaper, search Amazon for DMD or Shogun Frame Slider for Ninja 650. Also, Front Axel Slider (there are also rear axel sliders but u can't install it since Ninja 650 has a pin in the rear axel).

@louierivera7512 I traded in my Ninja 650 and have a bunch of extra leftover parts and accessories for it. If u r near NYC area, let me know if u r interested.

Good day I can’t figure it out and the warranty will continue to work? Because the official dealer says $ 250 and another service says 2 times cheaper
@genxjya
@genxjya Год назад
I'm sure Kawasaki will honor your warranty. All major manufacturers have fine print somewhere to protect themselves but it's highly unlikely they will deny any warranty issue because u didn't service it at an "official dealership".

Hey did you unrestrict it after? The dealer told me that it had to be done through the screen on the bike???
@skiff5036
@skiff5036 Год назад
@@SlowwN54 What exactly? I put 6000 rpm or are you not talking about that?
@genxjya
@genxjya Год назад
@SlowwN54 yeah it's easy. Its not a restriction, its just the shift lamp setting. When it hits a certain rpm, the screen flashes. The bike intially is set at 4000 or 6000 rpm (I forget). Just go in the menu and you can turn it on/off or set it higher. I set mine to 8000. It's not that important.

If you don't take the bike to dealership for initial service though it voids your warranty on a brand new bike? Thats what I read the terms and conditions were for the warranty
@genxjya
@genxjya 8 месяцев назад
It's not required and won't void the warranty. Unless they can clearly see you abused the bike or completely messed up something, they will still honor the warranty even if you didn't service it at the official dealership.

@@genxjyathanks man I'll keep that in mind. We have the exact same bike I got mine a few weeks ago and I'll be coming up to 600 miles soon. Was wondering if you could do a video on how you adjust/tighten the chain? I'm new to biking completely and one of my worries is not knowing how to do this when I need to Be cool if I could get your email/social too for further help/advice
@genxjya
@genxjya 8 месяцев назад
@danielpye7050 I'm a beginner too and still learning but the first time I did anything to my bike, I was really nervous. But you definitely need to be able to do basic maintenance and trust me when I say I am not handy at all... Right now I have 6.5k miles and the bike is at the kawi dealership for burnt clutch. They said it was user error and clutches are usually not covered but Thank God Kawi came through and are covering it under warranty. I'll upload the video of the whole situation when I get my bike back.
@genxjya
@genxjya 8 месяцев назад
@@danielpye7050600 mile initial service should be simple. Rewatching the vid, I can kinda see that the clutch cable is a bit tight (no free play). The kawi dealer said that may be one of the reasons for the clutch problem. Here is a good video for adjusting the clutch cable. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8MW4h1Rk9AA.htmlsi=TM2B1TIsb6PMiHEi

@@danielpye7050As for the chain adjustment. I only had to do it once at 6k miles. Just make sure u got the right tools. Torque wrench (1/2 inch instead of 3/8 inch like I got - more options in socet sizes) and 27 mm & 22 mm socket. You can get all 3 at Harbor Freight. Here is a good video on chain adjustment ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RA6OPG_cFms.htmlsi=CTfn1ITO3kJ6g568 I don't do social media but email is jayan1026@gmail.com Contact me anytime and I'll try to help you with my "LIMITED" expertise 😅

Hi there! So 1st of all, 1:05 on your back tire, do you have a screw in there ? I m looking to get a 650 KRT buuuut I m not 100% sure between this and the Yamaha R7. How do you enjoy the Ninja so far ? Any advice? thanks!
@genxjya
@genxjya Год назад
I think thats my tire repair video. Screw is out and its been plugged. I have about 2100 miles now and still enjoying the ninja very much. Both bikes are great but I chose the ninja because it's more comfortable and at least $1k cheaper. I'd say ninja 400 is definitely better than the r3 but 650 and r7 are pretty much a tie.

Good video , thanks for that. Just curious, are you glad you got a 400 as your first bike or could you have gone straight to the 650 as your first bike?

@genxjya Год назад
Don't listen to these youtubers talking about what is a beginner bike or not. A 400cc is a full motorcycle. Yes, I'm glad I had the Husky Svart 401 as my first bike. Mainly due to the weight (350lbs). There were plenty of occasions where I was able to save myself and bike due to the light weight. I'm comfortable and enjoying my 650 now (already 3500 miles) but already had 14k miles under my belt with husky.

I was using a royal Enfield interceptor 650 , used it for 8 months, sold it off and bought a ninja 650, great bike major difference between the two, interceptor was around 7 kgs heavier then this...but tell me won't the warranty be void if u service all by urself, ... because in Australia and India u have to take it to the service centre so long the warranty is there, and of course if uve taken the additional warranty, again u can't touch it....may be it depends on country.... policies.....thanx.
@genxjya
@genxjya Год назад
@maddy3030 Here in the US, it should be okay. Just as long as you didn't cause the problem yourself. US is huge and mainly a car country so its really difficult to get service for motorcycles. I did another oil change at 3500 miles, gonna take it to a dealer for 7500 miles service and new tires.

So I did the first one at 600 miles. Then I did the second one at 3500 miles. Planning on taking in to dealer for 7500 mile maintenance which includes oil change and also gonna get new tires.
@genxjya
@genxjya 11 месяцев назад
I ride regularly and already have 5500 miles on it. But if u don't ride often then gotta consider doing oil changes at least every 6 months or so regardless of mileage.
