Once you get it running you have to bypass the kickstand safety switch. Every time you put it in gear, the engine will die.

Hey guys, i'm a motorcycle mechanic and i'm very familiar with Gsxr engines, a few key things i wanted to point out were to make sure to only use the clutch switch to start the engine! they have a safety so no matter what the clutch needs to be pulled to crank, but there is also a soft limiter engaged which will change ignition timing and fuel mapping, essentially using the map for neutral, which has a rev limiter a few hundred RPM lower than while in gear under load. Not crucial but the more power the better! Also the sensor in the sprocket cover is purely a speed sensor which is totally not necessary, so that should not effect the engine running, last resort just unbolt it from the cover. The important things to check would be to make sure the kick stand switch is jumped or the switch is connected so it does not kill the engine when put into gear, and the Tip over sensor if that is not already jumped. i'm guessing one of those two things happened, Also if the instrument cluster is not completely destroyed, it would be best to plug it in so you could see if there are any FI errors. Hey Kyle, Theres three start safety on that engine one is the clutch second is neutral and lastly is the kickstand safety. you need to bypass those three to run no safety.. Thumbs up so they can see!

Check the tip over switch on the loom. Little box with a up sign. Over 45 deg it will cut spark. The sensor on the side is just for speedo pick up.

When you bypass the clutch switch like that your killing a lot of power. It makes the computer think the clutch is always pulled in and it has a low power map just for neutral.

I’d have a backup chain boys. That one looked haggard and you’re gonna put it through some paces for sure.

Don't use regular synthetic car oil or the clutch will slip.

Wire up a clutch switch otherwise it will throw a code when driving, bypassing will restrict the motor from my experience with a 09 GSXR! Assuming your clutch cover question relates to this.. Good luck!!
