@@josefb.6633 definitely not, a used 2019 GT3 RS was going for $150k-$175k in 2019. Price of evo in the states for something clean enough to turn into a race car is about $35k-$40k. Then you have the sequential trans which im guessing is a hollinger so add in another $25k, full engine build including dry sump at about $50k-$60k, then interior work (including cage, seats, electronic dash and everything else) at $10k, full suspension setup with some one-off parts so another $15k for suspension work (including all bushings), then another $5k for brakes, $7k for wheels and tires, and then probably another $15k for exterior parts considering there's a decent amount of carbon fiber and you're at $160k for the lower end of what I just quoted. So at $160k you've built a very fast evo, however its on slicks, needs a transmission and engine rebuild every 30hrs of run time, and doesn't have a warranty like the GT3 RS.
@@jackkost967 Interesting points! Well, I was talking about new GT3RS which is here in Europe for 280-300k$ depending on specs… I bought Evo for 18k$ and build was for 75-80k$ - 600HP. Engine lasted 40.000km, roughly 25k miles - track use only… Much more than 30hours… Engine repair was around 10k$… Nothing compared to expenses for breaks, tires, etc… Maintendence was made every 1.25k miles… Porsche basic service is at least 2000$ if nothing is fuck up, which usually is not… that is 10times more that Evo, but much less often… I would say about 5 times less often… So I dont know probably US tune shops or whatever you call it are much more expensive than here… I have contacts for guys who are building Evos since 90s for rally and they dont do it for money, but for love of it… So that can be also factor… But your numbers seem ridicilous to me here… Today it would be more of course, I was building it in 2020… Not the car is wrecked so I was not using it for a while and we are repairing it… Carbon is up 100% here etc… Anyways both cars are just amazing and yeah with Porsche you have a road car but this build Evo will beat it, especially on more technical tracks where top speed is not a factor… that being said you can take street Evo with simmilar power for much less money and it still will be competetive… And if you have used 2019 model here you warranty is over, we have 2 years here… And it does not cover track use… So that argument does not make sense to me… Anyway I dont think any car is better or worse, both are just different breed on its own… :)))
@@josefb.6633 yeah unfortunately everything here in the states is a little bit more expensive. I believe all of your numbers, the price of evos here has SKYROCKETED in the last 5 years. Warranty’s from Porsche in the states can go up to 7 years, 50,000 miles I believe. Im actually surprised at the low cost for you to build the car! Is the engine dry sumped or did you just baffle the oil pan? Couldn’t agree more though, not one is better or worse and they are completely different beasts. I was basing the numbers off of my 944 time attack build. Engine was extremely expensive because deleting a whole bunch of parts as well as getting a full built 3.0L is expensive. Aero quote was for a full flat bottom aero chassis which I’m assuming you don’t run? Just the front lip and diffuser and no undertray ? Were you able to find the sequential transmission used, as those are quite expensive! Good luck with the rebuild, hope nobody got hurt!
@@jackkost967 Thanks! Everybody fine, some expert with old car leaked cooland and I spun into the barriers in 160km/h (around 100mph) but engine was not hit thankfully… Infortunatelly it was 2 weeks after the end of previous repair (my fault - I rear ended someone in the wet) but I am not selling. It is true that prices of Evos almost doubled since my purchase. Warranty for Porsche is crazy, probably same option here - my buddy with Porsche is probably just cheap :D That engine price is nuts :D mine cost about little under 20k but just engine itself (10k repairs after it gave up)I think the parts must be cheaper for some reason and I am getting them without margins… And yeah no full flat bottom aero. I have something we call “a ski” that flattens the whole front under the engine area, nothing in the middle and custom diffusor in the back which is now shaddered and the guy who made is not responding, so I dont know what do about that… In the future I would like to do it but need to get to someone who does it… Sequential was used and restored. For good money, so I am pretty lucky that guys dont scam me.. I am not a mechanic just an enthusiast who loves Evos (Porches too, but it is just too much money for my taste - maybe some day) so I have also Evo X 490hp as daily and I just want to drive them till we can… Some extra technical details about set up I am not sure for that reason… I just drive :D
Evos are great even standard they do what it says on the tin and the handling is amazing wet or dry you out do every car in your way , best cars ever .
Either this was a shakedown for the evo, that is no ordinary gt3rs, or there is a Hell of a driver in the rs. I've been on track with them and they are incredibly fast but this evo seems to be a full on race build it shouldn't have that much trouble. You can see at the beginning he could easily pass but lets the Porsche go on ahead, I feel like he's testing out the car and wanted a strong pace to keep up wtith.
How old are you ? That's the rule if the car in front of you were reducing the speed and crowd, you need to learn how to drive on track , not only drive on street knowledge
Porsche 911 Carrera is bigger engine than Mitsubishi lancer Evo, this Evo driver doesn't pulling the throttle full but he press up and leave it how come it could faster until the limit, very very very very good mitsubishi lancer evo small but very very very fast
Evo was eating gt3 rs alive. Straights and corners. German stuff is always way over rated and definitely over priced. Now let's do some rally racing, what the Evo was really built for then you'll see how tough and reliable the Mitsubishi really is vs a Porsche gt3 rs
road car vs track car. Lol GT3 Rs are track-focused too but also a road car if you want to compare then compare a track built gt3 with all these downforces and lightweight with track built Evo dumb ass
@@danesh6224 if u do everything they did to the evo like all the aero stuff, built engine, upgraded suspension with the gt3 RS that's gna run maybe 200k i bet so no shit it's should out run evo which most likely is a 50-60k track monster lol
@@gnamir the GT3 Porsche is probably still gonna beat the Evo in a long distance track like the nurburgring, Evo doesn't have the aerodynamics body like the Porsche do mate
