Reimagining Alternative Urban Spaces
Architects have a new social role to play to improve neglected urban spaces. Through creative ideas, innovative architecture can transform abandoned public spaces and re-imagine new "Alternative spaces to create a vibrant community spirit. We find several small urban spaces, which are neglected, polluted, garbage dumps, without maintenance, pathways, etc
We often turn a blind eye to these discussed public spaces around us.
In reality, these spaces have tremendous potential to inspire community interaction, after they are transformed.
Can Schools of Architecture create a positive social impact on these derelict urban spaces, by redesigning alternative spaces to have a larger social impact and to rebuild and improve them with small interventions?
Disregarding the conventional presentation-based format, the competition involved practical documentation and innovative problem-solving. With the 60th year ANDC brief, the association has broken bounds through countless tassels to set the mark of an organization that works for the benefit of budding Architects in the country. Annual NASA Design Competition is the qualifying trophy for the Annual NASA convention and hence is mandatory for colleges that wish to participate in the convention.
As a novel initiative that started out with the young leaders of the NASA committee with intentions to restore the Association's focus on student involvement and support, the intervention reached out through the efforts of involved students across the I country who sought out to use the opportunity to act upon the possibilities they see around themselves.
This journey that began following the 59th Annual NASA Convention brought out a whopping result of 380 sites that have been transformed by various colleges around the country, a vibrant Kaleido Scope of diverse thoughts probing into a hundred ways to resolve some of the burning issues in our "urban environments",
