Jeff Petersen took some time to review the 60uP balance board, designed as exercise equipment for older adults to reduce fall risk and improve stability and strength.
Thank you for this review. I am 65 and in the last 6 mos. have fallen straight back on my back with no warning - no dizziness, no staggering. It's so strange to me. I just placed a bid on one of these on ebay - I am hoping it will help.
Glad we could help. We sincerely hope that the 60uP helps you (we think it will!). If you're in need of more help, definitely check in with a local physical therapist!
Great review for a piece of equipment that enables to do exercises that are so important. As a cheaper and cheaper options of more diverse exercise options, I use a balance disk with walking sticks and a set of elastic bands which have door connectors… straps. Balance and flexibility is key for us Seniors!
I have had to many concussions and I have vertigo. I do ballet and karste to try to work on strength and balance. I fell 3 times last year. I ordered mine today. I will try to remember to update once I get and use.
I just wish I would have found this back before the summer slow down for food deliveries. I am a delivery driver and I have been very concerned about my balance having noticed changes over the last couple of years. I turned 60 this year. It looks like a really good program. I'll need to wait til work picks up but I definitely will try it. Thanks for the awesome and detailed review.
I also purchased this. ("Black Friday special", $200). My diagnosis was "your vestibular system just stopped working, we don't know why. Try a few therapy sessions". Not helpful. Since using the 60up, I do notice my walking is straighter, less stumbling. I still managed to lose my balance and fall in deep snow. I imagine when I go to a resort in September, I'll probably still use a walker on the pier. Something about being on that narrow pier with no railings gets my knees buckling and quite a bit of anxiety. If there's more than 2 or 3 stairs with no railing, I'll find another way down. Otherwise, I can walk several miles with no issues. I wonder if the laminectomy on my L3-L4 back in October will help things eventually?
