This is my version of DIY My Way's Super Versatile Carry All. See his instruction video here. • Versatile Tractor Carr...
I really needed this to help me carry tools and tote things using my Kubota L2501 tractor around about our homestead. So excited to have this to help me with chores. Thanks for the design, DIY My Way!

Hi Homestead Pilgrim! Thanks for the shout-out! You’ve made a great version of my carry all to suit your needs. I love seeing how people have taken my design and customize it to their needs like you did with your longer chainsaw scabbard. Great job on the build and on videoing how you built it! Thanks for sharing!

My pleasure! As you can see, your design is awesome. My imitation of it is my sincerest form of flattery... Thanks again!

Howdy, Pilgrim! I'm making a video featuring some of the carry builds my subscribers and I'm going to feature yours. I've got some screen caps from your video. What state do you live in? Also, do you want to share your name (first name will do)? If not, I'll just refer to you as Homestead Pilgrim. Hope you are well!

Well done! I built the same design for JD 1025r. I welded the receiver to the carryall and spaced the wooden frame out to permit using it with my Quick Hitch. To preserve the treated lumber i coated the cut ends and the surface with Woodlife coppercoat wood preservative. Bill

Hey, qfdforme! I wish I had welding skills! That is surely better. I like the preservative on the board ends. Thanks for watching!

Thank you for sharing this video. I find that my Carry All is one of the most used implements that I have. I like some of your design features - especially being able to use the tailgate boards on top for a quick workbench surface - very nice.

Hi Fritz, thanks for watching. The design is DIY My Way's design. His design was perfect for my needs and has worked out really well so far.

Great video on the DIY My Way Carry All. I am doing one my self with the same plan. I like how you actually showed the building process and I know DIY had already built so was not possible. I think your lumber dimensions for the platform were a off because you did not use a 2x4 for the first board on the vertical portion and did not use the 1/4” spacing between the boards. Either way it worked out great nice job thanks for sharing

@homesteadpilgrim 3 года назад
Hi Brad! Awesome that you are building the Carry All! I love Martin's version that is why I followed his design. I agree on the lumber dimensions, but mine is working out perfectly. I use it all the time and it is by far the most useful attachment for me. I will probably put more long handled tool holders on it now that I am gardening... it comes in handy to tote all my garden stuff up to the pasture. Thanks for watching and good luck on your build!

You did a nice job on that project. I like that you gave DIY My Way credit several times throughout the video. It's interesting to see how a good idea can grind its way through the Internet with each person making changes to make it perfect for their job. Wish you had sped up the footage on some of the repetitive tasks.

Thanks for your kind words, Terry K. This was quite a long video and I did try to speed up most of it to 200% speed, but I'm sure I missed some that should have been sped up. Thanks for that feedback. RU-vid has been a tremendous resource for me for everything on how to disassemble and reassemble a firearm to how to cook a fantastic steak (Chef Ramsey!). Thanks for watching!

I need one for sure! Great work, and nice tools, those Milwaukee's are expensive but soooooooo worth it. Same with the Stihl. I miss my side by side because it was so hand around the house and very easy on the grass, but the ex got that when she left, I'll have another some day. The folding sides are very nice. And "oh no, you need a ramp" just more playing-I mean working on the L2501!

Side by side would be nice to tool around the property! Not in the cards yet, the boss isn't convinced on that one, lol

I built one similar to yours, but thought that, because of the location of the lower link pins, the whole thing wouldn't raise high enough for my hilly terrain. So I drilled two more holes for the pins 6 inches below the existing ones. This would also enable you to put it in your shed without having a ramp built.

Brilliant idea, Theodore! I'll think about that. I was given permission to store the carry all in the back of the garage along with the L2501. We'll see when she wants that back for her car! Thanks for watching!

If you make channels for your pallet loader, you can use this platform as a man lift

Why not just attach the casters to the carry all?
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim Год назад
That is a great idea if your usage and requirements dictate that approach. I keep the carryall attached 95% of the time or more, so the dolly works perfect for me. Also, if the casters were attached directly to the carryall I would definitely invest in more substantial casters... more rugged than the ones on the dolly. Another problem I would have is that when I go up to the pasture, it is frequently muddy or the ground is soft enough that the casters would sink into the mud and get all mucked up, or when I take the carryall down to the front field, the casters will hit the gravel and may get worn and damaged from that. Anyway, your idea is great if you don't have issues like I do and don't use the carryall almost exclusively like I do. Hope this helps. Good luck with your build!

I am awaiting delivery of my first tractor. A Kubota B 2601. I have already purchased 3-point hitch pallet forks. I was thinking of building a free-standing carry all to be picked up with the forks. Every video I have seen uses the specific carry all metal frame. Are there any gotchas to buildig a free standing one to be picked by forks when needed?
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim Год назад
Hi Jerry, how exciting you are getting a new tractor, you will love it and get so much work done. In regard to your question, I don't see any issues building a free standing carryall. I think you may want to look at similar types of fork liftable containers, like an IBC tote, that has metal sleeves for the pallet forks to be inserted into that are bolted to the carryall. You may just want to use the cage part of an IBC tote and cut away one side. it is all set to use at that point, you may build in wood walls if you want to close up the spaces. I would not spend the money on the 3 point carry all if you won't use it that way. Just my 2 cents. Good luck, Sir!

Thanks, Team Stucker! I too enjoy re-use of items that would otherwise go in a land fill. Hopefully I will influence my kids and their (future) kids to be kind to the wallet and to the earth by reuse.

Nice job. I would start with larger boards and use shorter bolts.
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 4 года назад
Thanks, rg. Agreed. The bolts were left overs from another project, so it was good that I got to use them up. I try to use what I have first. The board width is varying due to the pre-drilled holes in the carrier. You can drill more holes to accommodate any board length but that may compromise the strength. Thanks for watching! Good luck on your carry all!

Why does everyone use 2x4 lumber with no gaps. 3x4 stock would work just as well, is lighter, cheaper and easier to handle. I would leave gaps in between boards also, to allow debris to fall though. IMHO
@homesteadpilgrim
@homesteadpilgrim 4 года назад
Hi drdougaz! I didn't use any 2x4s in my build. I used 2x6, 2x10 and 2x12. I did put a small gap of about a 1/16 of an inch. The beauty of this carryall is that you can build it fully customized to your needs. I happened to really like DIY My Way's design and it is working out really well for me. Good luck on your build and please share it if you can. Thanks for watching!

Nicely done. How do you like that Milwaukee impact drill? I'm a Milwaukee guy and I have an older style battery operated Milwaukee drill that's probably 17 years old and it still does the job. My batteries are definitely coming to the end of their life (smile). 2nd set since I had the drill. I like your mods to the carry-all. Enjoy your channel and showing support with a full-watch. I just cannot say more about the Milwaukee drills. I even got another compact drill for pilot holes, LOL $$$. Flawless operation and all the power I need. The batteries last a good while!. Thanks so much for subbing. I did the same and enjoy your channel as well!

Hi Chris! I don't have a build sheet, I shamelessly plagiarized my build from DIY My Way's design he reviews in his video. I had to make some small adjustments, but my carry all is really based entirely off of his design! Visit his channel and review the 2nd video which is dedicated to a thorough walkthrough of the build! Thanks for the kind words and for watching the vid! Take care!
