Watching the painting from where it starts to where it ends is like seeing magic!

I learned watching this long peaceful video, that i need to be more patient. You have demonstrated how it is done…one foot in front of the other. Through your quiet focus and calm, you solved the puzzle once again. So inspiring! Thank you for sharing this. Yet another gift.

As artists it is so refreshing to embrace what we may not think that we can achieve. It takes countless hours to understand concepts and ideas, techniques and the learning never ends. I appreciate how you embrace it Titus. Many artists run the other direction when it comes to portraiture. I love using the verdaccio method even with watercolor and pastels because I love layering and grabbing those undertones straight away but it becomes fun the more we do. And I mean no offense to artists that just enjoy painting even one particular subject but it opens new possibilities and opportunities since it is our income or supplements it. Thank you Titus and enjoy your painting session. Happy weekend!😊

L'énergie vibratoire de ce self portrait rappelle celle représentée dans la série des fanfares. Félicitations pour cet accomplissement et pour la maîtrise artistique que vous démontrez. Et nous avons le privilège d'en être témoin, merci!

Do you use any mediums?
@TitusMeeuws
@TitusMeeuws 7 месяцев назад
Hi Amanda. No, I don't use any mediums at the moment. Only white spirit for the underpainting. And in the painting itself I sometimes add a little pure linseed oil if needed.

Thank you for your great shares ❤ The underpainting dried for a day? And from there you paint alla prima? How many days and hours per days have you worked on it? Kindest Hello from Zurich ❤
@TitusMeeuws
@TitusMeeuws 5 месяцев назад
Hi Natalie, no I let the underpainting dry for about one hour. It had been painted with shite spirit and burned umber. It dries quickly and it doesn't mind if not totaly dry

Could you tell, please what canvas do you use?
@ninner196
@ninner196 7 месяцев назад
Looks like linen but then he might think that there Jennie goes again knowing what pigments and supplies I use. 😂 Typically if one wants finer quality oil paintings then they stretch a close knit linen that is smoother and doesn’t show all the weaving underneath. Yes people use panels and pre stretched primed canvases of which there are higher quality ones , generally just doing one’s own can be done to how each one prefers their canvas. Happy Weekend!😊

The cycle continues now you younger guys are going back to realism and I notice that the lass you visited was doing AI. How do we ever get the technical skills but have that extra something into it. The Americans seem to be churning out abstract art all over the internet whilst you guys seem to keep to technical brilliance. And you are brilliant with your skill. Im a painter but mine is all intuition but I lack skill. My friends tell me that I have the gift and I win art prizes but im still not sure. It seems all artists need some gimmick that is different. I mean i like Marlene Dumas and im an artist of her type. I can only paint from my imagination and would love to learn what you guys do.
