People were saying the same thing about David Taylor 6 months ago, let’s not get carried away champ. He won Olympic gold three years ago, won worlds ‘22, and ‘23, most thought he was the undisputed favorite.

@@matt6619 6 months after the fact, it seems clear Taylor had one foot into his post-competitive life. Vito turned down the Olympics for this. He's a pretty safe bet.

@@hey12358yyou don’t think I know that? I’m a fan. I think Vito might have the best ncaa runs I’ve ever seen last year, and this year was just as good. I had my hopes up for Taylor to win, just like I will for Vito, I just wouldn’t complain if desanto wins. Fix doesn’t have a shot at winning a world title imo, and no matter what I think Vito is our best chance at a world title.

he also was injured with a bad back injury for that Va tech dual vs Latona. Back was so bad he was having trouble walking that week (Had McGee on tue Latona thu). He did beat Latona by a good amount at both CKLV and NCAAs that year when he was in good health. When you watch the match in the dual Vito doesn’t take one shot in the entire match cause he can’t…ends up losing 3-2. Looking back, sucks he even wrestled it because it cost him a Hodge Trophy for sure.

@@matt6619if you think Desanto has a chance while Fix doesn’t you’re delusional. Vito has teched both and he’s not as old as David Taylor. If you were at all a fan you wouldn’t be comparing the two. They don’t correlate.

I think the biggest threat is still Nashon, but man, it’s so hard to see anyone knocking him. He has separated himself from the rest of the field in the world let alone the U.S

I think Marcus gets by Seth I can’t really see Seth generating his own offense against Marcus and Marcus is very selective with his shot choices. I’m not bold enough take take him against an in form Nashon but if it’s any other version I think he could come out of that top side. As for the bottom some added intrigue is that Jax has wrestled with Austin and Daton. Datons my pick to come out of the bottom I’m super interested to see if Austin’s forward pressure plays into Jax’s game or if he’s just too strong.
