6201 Princess Elizabeth, STORMS through Penrith and at Carlisle 3rd October 2020 

It's great to see a `prinny royal` in full throttle but alas does it need a diesel on the rear and please don't comment with " in case it breaks down", this class as we all know is perfectly capable of hauling a 13 coach train unaided, as being a true steam enthusiast from the 1950s and 60s, I was well used to seeing these locos regularly around Crewe and Liverpool but NEVER with a diesel in tow, the only thing I can think of is the railway companies stipulate this in any contract, another thing of note, the shed code 10A was the old Springs Branch shed at Wigan and I never remember it being shedded there, for a time it was at 5A Crewe, 66A Polmadie Glasgow or the old 12A Carlisle Kingmoor and thanks Phil for the great footage.

Nice camerawork. Why are they using coaches with A/C for steam trips? Mights as well have a class 90 on the front. The mark II with air con have pokey little windows. And don't the Hitachi trains look dreadful with all the clutter on the roof. There is not much point in having a pointy nose with all the air resistance caused by the rooftop boxes, and more from the wide gaps between the carriages. The Pacific and its mark 1 look great, though.

What was that car on the end of the Train? Was that one of doz new fangled DIESELS? Was something wrong with it? Was it broken? I guess the Steam Engine was being a nice Lady and pulling it to the Shops......... Beautiful video!!! Keep it going,

Through Penrith at full belt ,probably done that 1000,s times up to1962 ,the power ,sound and smell of steam incredible ,I wonder what a night time shot would look like with firebox and exhaust glowing ,by the way is it only me that finds the station commentary and diesel on the rear an irritant.!
