Great to have the message that we were across the border. 70 years or so ago, I went with my father to spend some time on a property his aunt and uncle had at Rylstone. The property started just on the outskirts of town and bordering the railway line. The house was positioned quite close to the line, and I'd run up to the fence to watch trains passing. We'd caught a steam-hauled train from Wallerawang, in old dog-box carriages. Through the week, I'd seem similar trains making the journey to Mudgee, but there were some of the new 600/700 class. I desperately wanted to catch one of those back and fortunately we did. I was able to sit at the very front, opposite the driver. a great view as we travelled along the Divide.
Great video. Actually got to drive over the border ranges via the Lions Rd and stopped at a lookout over looking the spiral loop. It was a welcome break from the boring drive and rat race from Ipswich heading home to Nowra Would be great to do it by train but the xpt timetable not great. Perhaps keep an eye out for another excursion train such as this. Lovely part of the world .
Not happy with this video! Nothing from the Departure from Roma Street on the dual track and through QLD to the Border. Next time better ... Install a camera in the driver cab like others do it. Everybody likes trains different.
Umm, there's plenty from the QLD side of the border thank you, there are no scenes around Roma Street because the place is a boring concrete jungle that only foamers visit. Why should I install a camera in the cab? This is an enthusiast video, not some high production film. I could make similar comments about your XPT video.
