There a is a stair know as Yam Shila, who had requested Lord Lord Jagannath, that after darshan of yours all the sins of the people are washed away and that is why no one goes to Yamlok. So, Lord Jagannath gave her a blessing that if anyone gets to step down back in this stair after having my darshan, all his good deeds will be washed away and he will go to Yam Lok. I agree with him on most things except the last part where he comes down to talk about alcohol and non veg . I totally understand its very wrong to enter temple and yatras taking alcohol or non veg but banning alcohol and non veg in cities like Puri, Cuttack, bbsr is obnoxious idea . Odisha is a coastal state which has huge non veg influence not like north India where maximum Hindus don't eat non veg. If you will ban non veg in city like Cuttack , bbsr and puri (epicentres of odia culture) then it will be a equally great damage to odisha culture, heritage and cuisine. Yes there are different ways we can counter this. For example it should be made mandatory to enter the temple in kurta and dhoti/ pyjama rather than jeans and all . For women saree or kurti should be made mandatory to maintain the purity of the temple. Similarly gutka kumars should be fined and their gutka packets should be thrown away . Alcohol thekas in some 1 km radius of the temple must be banned. Public awareness should be created to take religious places seriously not some photoshoot couple point. For those things there are enough nice gardens and restaurants and night life in bbsr city. Construction near temples should be stopped to maintain temple. I seriously have many issues with Modijis temple corridor making projects. For places like Kashi sure its a good thing because the place was too conjusted before but many other temples dont need this corridor projects . Its actually an useless thing to do . Rather it would be better if india would take city planning and SEZ economic city construction and plan to create new mega cities to reduce the conjustion from old cities
Alcohol ban is proposed for Puri only. Chilka is no more safe for family visits because of Alcohol abuse. If Braj Mathura KASHI can be alcohol free then why not Puri.

correction 1: in 1999 supercyclone 10K people died, not 50K. Correction 2: the story about the person leaving valuation of ornaments in 1978 Ratnabhandar counting is incorrect. Correction 3: Law minister didnt say anything about the inventory in 2018. But yes, the committe didnt go inside & BJD tried to delay the counting process indefinitely from 2018. Correction 4: Counting & Evaluation of ornaments 2024 not started yet.
