65" for $240?! - TCL Unbox/Review 

I bought this 65” tcl tv for $228 Black Friday deal 2022. I fine tuned it to my liking and I love it. The color is beautiful. I’m happy with this purchase.

Great video. Just bought the Japanese version. The only difference is that it’s Android with the matching remote. Not a bad tv at all for the price and features!!

On my 50" 5 series I was able to easily snip off the plastic pegs and swap the left and right feet so they angle in instead of out saving a lot of tabletop space.

Yeah! you made a good purchase. Now Walmart is selling it for $300.00 plus. I owned a series 4 55inch roku ultra that I bought from Costco back in 2017. I loved it. I recently upgraded to a Samsung 65 inch. The TCL is a great T.V. for the money.

That's an amazing bargain, here in the UK it would be impossible to purchase a 65 inch 4k TV for such a low price. With regard to the motion blur, I would suggest you do some research on this model TV, perhaps join a forum, you may be able to reduce or eliminate it by making some picture adjustments

I’ve disabled HDR on mine, looks much brighter and better in SDR

My 65 TCL 4 series lasted two years screen went black replaced with a 70 inch different brand with extended warranty hope I have no problems

Im a Canadian and I was in a USA Walmart and I bought this this past black Friday, I noticed taking the plastic off The bezel it seemed a little fragile but I'm super happy with it! Great value love the built in Roku!

Most people are not as into the technical stuff they just want a big screen. I have the TCL R635 and although it's a better TV it probably isn't that much better for the casual TV viewer. Save yourself some money and buy one of the less expensive TCL like this they are IMO very nice sets for the money.

I got one and it's fine for a secondary TV. It doesn't have even lighting across the screen however. The backlight is very noticeable on the left side of my screen and the rest of the screen suffers from dirty screen effect pretty badly. I was able to minimize the effects by adjusting the settings, but you can't make those issues completely disappear. If this was my primary TV, I certainly would have returned it. but for $240 I'm keeping it for a secondary TV.

I actually have this tv. I love it.

Mine unfortunately arrived with a crack in the top right corner. Walmart did not have any replacements available and I had to get a refund. I’m sure that the cost to fix it would be more than the cost of the TV itself.

Bought one 6 months ago and loved it. Great picture quality. But the backlight just died and now I need to go thru warranty to repair

It's pretty good if you need a big TV... Just lack of brightness... It be best for a dark room or something..

That is great performance for $250bucks, if you get 5 yrs out of this TV , that's the same as found money Great TV for a large owner's suite or a Kid's TV room

I have the series 6 tcl 55 inch. I like it sure has better specs in it. I do not get to much into that. But my seem to be faster loading stuff then that one. Just bought it from the guy who told me was one of the better ones at Best Buy like 2 years ago.

I've been down this road before. Buying a giant tv for cheap just because"Big". The display was such a mess, the tv was too big for where I was sitting. I replaced it with a beautiful 43 inch 120hz bravia with inky blacks close to Oled quality as opposed to black images with dancing pixels and artifacts that in reality were as grey as a week old body. 🤢

DO I HAVE TO hook it up to the web in order for it to operate in the first place? I DO NOT need any web functionality. The only thing that will be connected is my cable TV box and a laptop.

I just bought the model 65s51r yesterday, haven’t opened it yet because I was scared I had bought the same model from 5 years ago lol, but it’s def a different model (my current is 65s4). From what it looks like, I’m happy I can use my Alexa with This one, but I’m hoping the visual quality is better, considering I didn’t necessarily need a new tv yet, but for the price, I couldn’t help myself lol.

So who really makes all these TVs because if I hadn’t seen the beginning of this vid I wouldn’t know who the manufacturer is from the unboxing. This TCL came out of the book looking exactly like my Hisense. Same melded foam same warning about holding the TV for lifting and moving Sam film over the screen with the strips to reduce pressure on the screen where your hands might hold out same legs and accessories. Feels like there is one factory loading up different software and putting it in different boxes.

The quality is crisp 😮 and nice overview man ~ I’m just kinda sceptical about its durability

Easy fix, pair this with Firestick 4k Max or Cube and it will be so much better.

I love my TCL TV but still don’t know how to use it. I noticed how when you plugged yours it took like 15 minutes to load everything up. I’m having trouble uploading the apps. I can’t get into Google and watching anything on Hulu or Roku is unavailable. So far I’m only watching Netflix. I just bought an HDM1 cable to connect to my laptop. I just think I set it all wrong when I first got it. And wonder what I need to do. Because it’s a smart TV I should be able to watch stuff on RU-vid without an error message appearing. Also I did not receive any instructions with the box when I received it. My suspicion is that this was returned by a customer at some point and then they just sold it to me without instructions etc. So what are my options?

I purchase 3 yeago 75" tcl 4 series for $600

I bought this TV for black Friday at my local Walmart and brought it home to realize there was no sound and at the top left corner of the screen the pixels were black and missing I immediately returned this TV and went and bought a Hisense 65 and like that one a lot better only cost me 348 dollars

We bought one on Black Friday and less than a month later had to take it back because it stopped working.

I got the 5 series 55" TCL Android for 199$, and sure it looks better with local dimming. For everyone else, I'd highly recommend the Roku versions. Pretty quick, settings are simple to get to. Roku game mode? Settings, advanced settings, game mode. Done. Android? Well depending on your firmware, you might be able to hit settings, advanced settings, at the bottom you 'might' see game mode. Other times you HAVE to put it on the game picture setting, mess your image up, but it'll turn game mode on. All the while, the TCL Android interface is SLOW. Wayyyyy worse than fire, not to mention Rokus quickness.

One and done for me and TCL. 55" didn't make it 2 years. And no I didn't have super high expectations but give me 2 years.

I got this deal, not a bad tv BUT… the speaker’s are my only issue. I don’t have the newest Gaming Consoles so the older generation plays really good in my opinion.

Internet speeds are in Megabytes not megabits and it’s per second upload and download only inside of the tv or Computer is in megabits

I don't know what picture setting do you use, although on the video/camera it always looks brighter when you take a screen shot than it actually is, but here its brightness is like a candle... very low. Yes for the money.. maybe it is justified but personally I would prefer to pay a little more maro to get something with better performance.

I got the smaller version of this the 55s455 for my kid's playroom. So far it's great my only complaint is the speakers are horrible got to get a soundbar

TV looks darker in your review than in person if that's suppose to be 65S425. Also that tv is now pretty old. My dad bought this for $455.81 back in November 2019. I am thinking of upgrading our TV to 77 inch or 83 inch OLED but don't know if it's worth it or not and I'm horrible at saving money. 77 inch and 83 inch oleds range from 2-3 grand and higher. Is it worth upgrading to OLED or no?

Did you change the picture settings at all? Normally it's in low power mode out of the box and is like half as bright

Anyone have a say as to Hisense or TCL for a low end TV? The Hisense has better specs, but is the picture actually better? Some commenters have stated that Hisense dies quick. I like the color quality of the TCL.

In terms of brightness. Did you make it sure you turn off the economy mode?

do you need a cable service for it to work or will it work off those new antenna 's and just plugging it in

Even today there is not a single model from TCL in europe that is under $600 for 65" size. And that model (code name P615) is old 2020 model. Same story with Hisense brand in EU. They sell worse and way more expensive models than in US.

Be ready for the tv to blank out had this model it died after a year and a half. It cost me more to fix

If you buy one of these, be sure you get the extended warranty. Mine died in just under 3 years.

I hate TCL. I had 2 and they each broke at 17 months exactly.

Everything proven vhs tapes don't stop playing at all it doesn't lock up at all everything proven vhs tapes don't have picture quality problem's at all everything proven not every tv has good picture quality everything the good tvs continue to put more greater quality in your VHS tapes now on to the bad tvs don't have good picture quality it continues to take quality out of your vhs tapes

My 1 year old TCL 32" is garbage....JUNK!!!!! Never again TCL.....

Dude not a very good review. You didn't even adjust the picture settings before you stsrted watching...amateur. I have a TCL 65 inch and it comes very close to my Hisense U8H picture quality. If you know what you are doing and adjust the picture properly. I should have known when you used that piece of plywood that your review would be crap.
