#65 John Deere 1025R No Backhoe, No Problem. Use the Loader and toothbar

Even without the backhoe, the John Deere 1025R can remove large items.
We were just about ready to leave Patrick's house on our last visit.
He said, "Oh, I forgot to mention this, could you remove that flag-pole base?"
We didn't have the backhoe with us, so we decided to try to remove it with the Heavy Hitch toothbar.
We obviously had no idea how deep this flag-pole foundation went into the ground.
Even without the optimal equipment, the John Deere 1025R can do the job in just a few minutes.

I have heard that doing jobs like that put your bucket at risk of having a permanent smile. You are a braver man than me!

I can't understand why more people don't buy a toothbar. Your video makes a perfect case to their versatility.

Well, it makes sense me. I had no idea how much it would enhance the capability of the tractor. You are right. These videos should illustrate just how powerful they are. ..AND you get a 5% discount with coupon code TTWT @ heavyhitch.com

That little tractor is a hard working machine and you have removed things I thought you never would get up, but did. I have the 790 and 3032E tractors and have not done half the stuff with them that you do with yours.

Rough in certain ways, Patrick. There are some things we are careful about. Never ‘RAM’ something at speed.

Tractor Time with Tim Hi Tim, I don’t so much have questions with this as I do another Artillian product. I know that you are well aware of their quality. Have you gotten a chance to use the Artillian stump bucket? I know it mounts on the pallet fork frame. I was thinking about buying it, and was just curious if you had any experience with using one? Thank you in advance sir! Justin N.

Yessir. We used it in this episode: Backhoe Thumb, Front Hoe Bucket; Group Project with 3 John Deere 1025Rs & 3046R!

Yes, not really the best tool for the job. However, it shows that you can accomplish the goal even if you don't have the perfect tool.

That is an awesome & a job well done. Awesome digging. I'm gonnuh have to find your video on how ya'll installed your tooth bar. I have my "Johnny" on order & shoulder be available for pickup at the end of July. I ordered the FILB with 54"mower deck & a set of pallet forks. I would love to purchase a front & rear blade as well when the time comes. Thanks for sharing this video. God bless

Great job Tim the tooth bar worked great but I think I would of put a chain on it after digging around it just saying not telling you how to do it but johnny got it and good to see he is not too tired after his big tiller job nice job but it sounded like that was all he wounded to do ! 😉 but you did a nice job you and you're family have a safe up coming memorial weekend 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 !! curt 🚜. 🚜

jobs like this is why I keep lots of chains with hooks. sometimes it is easier to wrap a chain around the object and lift it straight out of the ground .

Lucky you didnt snap a loader arm with the presssure you put on the loader (even with your teeth.. You should have taken the time to remove soil from around it to find how large and how deep the concrete was. You have to repair the lawn anyways. You would have then been able to get under the lip of the concrete and pull straighter up with less abuse to the loader.

Good job Tim. Now you know what I have to do when digging. I'd love a BH but it's not in the cards.
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 8 лет назад
yea, this would have been easier with the backhoe, but it was entirely do-able with the loader, and could have been even easier if I wasn't being so careful to avoid destroying Patrick's yard.

I'm looking for a toothbar for my 1025 tlb? is this tooth bar worth it? do u like the fact that you dont have to drill into the bucket? would you buy again or choose a different design? is it even worth buying? does it perform that much better to buy one?
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 7 лет назад
+Kristina Laboy toothbar is definitely worth it. Improves digging ability tremendously! I like the Heavy Hitch version. Easy to put on and take off....and very tough!

Hey, just handle it like the TV networks...go back and watch the 're-runs' :-) I re-watched the "cut pallet racking with the miter saw" this week. Forgot how entertaining Katriel was. She did NOT like the sparks!

How much better would your 2R have been at this job? I find myself needing to dig like this from time to time and don't love my buddies BX Kubota as i feel like it doesn't have enough umph to get the job done.
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 4 года назад
Well, the 1 series has MUCH more loader umph than the BX! The 2R loader definitely stronger, but it isn’t radically so. I show lift capacities of each in videos.

There are a couple of different sizes. $299 and $329. See details here: heavyhitch.com/store/replacement-parts/toothbar-for-john-deere-front-end-loader/

For the base model it is 11k and with what all he has I would about 28k
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 8 лет назад
Doug, I suspect it was now that you mention it. I didn't know what it was! Thanks for answering that question. I heard that this flagpole was originally instaled by a professional crew. Given how secure it was, I can safely say that they did an excellent job. There were a couple of issues. First, they put the 'grade' of the concrete too high (hard to drive over). Second, they put the flagpole too close to the driveway. I wouldn't want a flagpole there, I would back into it with my car.
@DougStevenz
@DougStevenz 8 лет назад
Not the tractor, just the toothbar on the bucket.

Using the forks works much easier when trying to get under concrete. I was able to remove an old sidewalk with mine, not tearing up the yard near as bad.
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 8 лет назад
Yep. Definitely. The point of this video is that you CAN get a task completed WITHOUT forks OR a backhoe. In this case, I didn't have the forks along. I didn't think I would need them on this occasion. Patrick came up with this task on a whim just as we were leaving that evening. Thanks for watching and commenting! Do you have a 1-series? What kind of forks do you have?
@charleskelbley385

I have a 1025R. Forks are 36 inch long. Bucket is 53 wide, 60d deck. I do enjoy your videos, it gives me ideas on what you can do, and thoughts for Christmas presents!

Tractor Time with Tim awesome! I love the 1025R... I can't afford one at the moment so I have to live vicariously through you guys... any idea how much the bucket can lift?
@TractorTimewithTim
@TractorTimewithTim 7 лет назад
probably 800-1000lb off the ground, but not to full height. I have lifted 1145 lbs about a ft off the ground with the forks. ...but the tractor did not appreciate it. So, different questions "how much WILL it lift, and how much SHOULD you lift with it?"
