Clark blew that. He was way too cocky before the race, he wanted to toy with them and still win. He paid dearly for his complacency. He should have won that. Black ran it perfectly to take advantage of Clark's mistake.

Okay, so Darren Clark lost this race....but he beat all the Brits in the AAA finals for 4 years in a row and set Commonwealth games record in 1990. Don't recall Black setting a Commonwealth Games record..

If Darren Clark was in Roger Black's inside lane and Black was in lane 8..I believe Clark would have ran over Roger Black...and would have gone under 45 sec..

Clark was not aware how fast Black had closed the stagger until the 220m mark. By then it was too late, as Black could cruise the bend and hit the straight with ease. Clark had taken the race too casually.
