I built this truck with my daughter, here is a little look at it, lots of old videos, engine build, suspension etc. Check out mrhevyshevy.com for some super cool swag
Wow! Where does the time go so fast? I've been watching you all for years and it's been fun! I remember all the work on this cool truck! God bless you all! ... and who the heck give this video a thumbs down...unbelievable.
That's quite possibly my favorite body style of Chevy trucks ever. And probably my favorite build of yours. Tell the young Miss not to be so camera shy; we miss her smile. Sadly, neither of my daughters has inherited my interest in things mechanical. 🙄
I had a '64 many years ago, with the 292 and granny gear four-speed. It was the same color, and a long bed. That was a great old truck, I'd like another one some day.
I sold My 62 to a Katrina refugee before my first and last wedding back in ‘06... no I was not asked to sell it.. I held on to her for 9 years with the original 283.. 4 speed with granny.. I do miss my knee buster !!.. beauty of a truck there friend !!
I had just finished watching several random videos of your truck build. What had started this viewing was your front suspension conversion, and after that I was hooked. I have a good running '68, but I want to make some improvements on it, such as power steering, disc brakes, AC, and interior. My 13 year old says that it's her truck, let's see if she still feels the same after she helps me out with the rebuild. Great job on your '66! Glad to see these old trucks get rescued and resurrected for many happy highway miles to come. Theres nothing that beats a classic.
Robert Emmons if I have any advice to offer its, get her interested now. When she’s 17 or so she might check out for a while. But she’ll be back. I think. Thanks for the kind words. We do enjoy the old ones.
if that's an aftermarket tach, then take the cover off and see if it can be switched to 8 cyl. Have and old tach like that and it has resistors inside to switch from 4, 6, and 8 cyl. Cheers!
I like your neck of the woods: No people, no cars. I want to live there!! Them 305 heads are perfect for 283/307 engines. Small chambers, hardened seats, accessory holes.
Thank you, as always , great videos, both of them. I lQQk forward to each Sundays post. It appears Lil Miss has outgrown the camera, It would be nice to see how much she has grown up in the last couple of years . Keep on keeping on, and may God Bless your Family . Cheers.
Would look a little funny with new boards on the bed floor.. maybe gotta pull some off of an old shed with weathered paint on them to replace just the ones that need replacing. I like how there’s no mistaking what kind of carb it has; classy decal.
"SHE RODE HORSES" AND YOU BUILD 'EM. THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE MAKINS' OF A SOUTHERN ROCK OR AN OLD COUNTRY SONG 1 ANOTHER AWESOME VIDEO JUST WATCHED ,THE 46 HYDRO BOOST LINES. DIDN'T COMMENT I DID MASH THE LIKE AS I DO WITH ALL YOUR VIDEOS. NICE '66 ,HAD A RUST BUCKET(AS I LIVED ON THE TEXAS GULF COAST) '63 WITH A 230 HOT WATER SIX AND A FLOOR SHIFTER FOR THE THREE SPEED ,PAID 100 BUCKS AND DROVE IT TIL I BOUGHT A NICER TRUCK GAVE TO MY BROTHER IN LAW AND HE DROVE IT UNTIL HE GOT HIM A NICE TRUCK AS IT WAS BARELY WORTH 100 BUCKS WHEN I GOT IT. I REGRESS. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
My 17 year old boy felt a little less than when we watched a vid where Little Miss was sitting in the engine compartment help you. He got busy though and has become a good mechanic.
Really sad when GM was #1 and these trucks still running being 50-60 YEARS old. Today's trucks are all plastic/chinese electronics piles of bull sheet at $50,000-$100,000.
That is exactly why I cringe every time I see an LS in a old car. There won't be any cleaning the carb, filing the points, and firing up one of those popped capacitor piles 50 years from now.
@@Freedomquest08 Rather keep the first gen V8 myself and the amount hacks to do the swap make it disposable pile of garbage. The 350 is one of the toughest engines on earth and so many ways to build them.
Nice truck, you do great work! I watch your videos and get ideas for mine. Where can I find that floor insulation, I am trying to figure out the best to use?
I have a 69 c-10 but id rather have the pre 67 style like urs! I still need to do alot of work to my 69 but shes a runner thou my daily is my 67 impala 4 dr
Do you by chance sell rebuilt carbs ? Bought a 78 k20 with the stock 400 and it’s missing the carb.. No clue what’s supposed to be on it lol.. not much info on google search. Thanks 🙏🏻
MrHevyshevy when running these older vehicles, do you have to actively search out ethanol free gas stations or are you adding additives to combat that situation?
I’m building a 283 and using the same rebuilt 305 Camaro heads that I got from a guy that didn’t have time to finish his 283 project. Question what head gasket did you use? I have some concern about the squish area being the 305 usually uses it’s own head gaskets and a 283 gets away with the standard sbc head gasket as 327 350 etc. seems like you can have some area of unburnt fuel hanging around the chamber pocket areas. Nice truck and motor!
Question, I have an opportunity to buy a rust free, dent less, roller. All parts are in boxes and need to be put back together. They framed off and never finished putting her back together. 350 motor (apart) and a 700R4 trans, all for $2500. Mind you, the fenders, hood, tailgate, everything is held together by a handful of bolts. He’s asking $4500 and I have him down to $2500 plus delivery. What is YOUR opinion on price??? Anyone?
Have you lineseeded the whole truck and if so how long ago? I'm looking into doing my old original paint 1991 s10. I'm not sure if Im gonna like it, Ya know!?
Since you brought the 66 up, does the 'Little Miss' still drive it? I guess maybe she has moved from it to one of your vehicles that has an automatic transmission. Don't know why she seems to be camera shy now because I'm sure she's a beautiful young woman that you and the Mrs are very proud of.. Same should be true for the other two. :)
this sure sounds like a vid where you are trying to sell the old girl, I sure hope not. I always liked that 66. Does lil miss drive it much? When you close that hood, that has a sound of real steel.... unlike todays new paper thin junk.
