I like your tip for grinding along the edge, I'm gonna use that one. Thanks!

No problem. It's allot easier to remove a narrow flat piece than trying to fight with a 90* piece which is strong. I have a short video I am working on for easily removing spot welds with minimal damage.

Compared to what I'm working with, that Mustang is solid!

It's relatively rust free compared to a northern car but it led a really rough life with allot of damage. Here no one would even touch a project in this condition as even today it's still easier to find a better car to restore. None of the car guys here I know would even think of restoring it and are amazed that I am doing it.

Good video. I will suggest using a dust mask or respirator. I know you already know that, but I have done the same thing, and all that junk is hazardous.

I usually do but... Not to mention they aren't the easiest things to get right now either. I used to keep the big boxes of dust masks and go through allot of them. I do have an air cleaner that I run most of the time which helps allot. I might try the import market Kn95 ones but most seem too small.

@@theinfernalcraftsman Anymore, I just use my paint respirator... Probably the best filter you can use.

He has and he was jealous of my un bent up sail panel. I have that dropoff almost flattened already. But I also had to replace everything from the floor supports forward. So all that metal forward of the firewall is new.

I'm thinking I'll patch my inner fenders too. I bought new outer. Innerspring ain't great either?

The rear wheel houses are really hot or miss on fitment. The dynacorn ones tend to fit well. But the cheap ones out there seem like they are using the old 1980s stampings and don't fit much anything.

Thanks. I'd allmost screw this stuff together for the next sucker/guy. Same them the extra work to get apart. My rockers are barley there on the end. Oh well. The inner wells when they arrive//guess I allready said/probably a waste of money /but the inch or 2 or 3 where it's welded to the flat trunk thing/ then ea.end. My friends think I'm an idiot for fooling with this junk. Probably .Ha!

@@stevepope5484 You will get there. Spend the time to replace the stuff deeper in. Sometimes you can repair it with new steel but if you don't you will know what's hiding in there and it will come back to haunt you. But do it right and you will be happy with the end result and sleep well at night knowing nothing is hiding in there

How do you know where to cut above the wheel well
@theinfernalcraftsman
@theinfernalcraftsman Год назад
I like to cut at least 1" from the edge of the panel as when you get close to the edge it is very easy to cut through and into the outer wheel house. The further you are away from it the bigger the gap between the two is.

Did you decide on a quarter panel manufacturer yet?
@theinfernalcraftsman
@theinfernalcraftsman 3 года назад
The one I have I was told was from Dynacorn but who knows. After watching Grease Rookie I have concluded his is not made in the same factory as mine. Several differences in manufacturer. So there are at least 3 companies making quarter panels for these cars in Taiwan .

@@theinfernalcraftsman I saw a factory Ford quarter panel for a 68 on Ebay last week that was 1400 bucks. You don't see those come up everyday but the price, wow!
