67 VW BUS rusted out to restored start to finish in 30 min vw bus restoration full build 

TO THE GUYS WHO WANT PERFECT.....I am not doing that kind of work anymore. Been there done that....For those guys....good luck to them wasting all their precious LIFE.....to make something perfect that they NEVER drive because they have so much invested in it.... Can I do that kind of work..... YUP..... but I say WHY.....What is the point..... I want something I can drive and not have a lifetime invested in it. LIFE IS FOR LIVING not to prove a point.....lesson learned.

WOW! What a load of hard work THAT musta been! I'm so lucky I found both my 61's (double cab, double-door panel) in sunny, dry Albuquerque! Solid as granite, very minimal surface rust at all. Hell, the panel has its original (matching numbers) 40hp stale air, and believe it or not, still riding on its original Continental TUBED tires! Gonna have to swap those out, but...... You do GREAT work!

Don't know who made the "half ass" comment but they aren't in touch with reality. That van is fantastic!! I'd be proud to drive it. By the way, doing bodywork/sheetmetal body repair is an incredibly DIFFICULT and lost art. Good on you for jumping in and getting it done the best you could with the time and money you had!!

If you could drive that thing thru a pit of rust encapsulator to about a foot above the rocker panels you could save yourself a lot of work.

I'm working on my 1962 11 window now, and hope to finish late December. Original Turkis bus. I can only hope my bus turns out as nice a yours. Cool video!!

It's my understanding that all '67 VW's built before Jan. 1967 did not have back up lights. This was before the federal mandate took effect. Those built as of Jan. 1st 1967 did have back up lights when the new law took effect..

great job with your restoration! Don't worry about the people telling you that you could have done a better job in certain places. I have to confess that before restoring my first car (1988 Trabant 601) I was one of those people who were rather nit picky in the comment section of these videos, but now I can appreciate the hard work that went into these videos a lot more

Most of these replacement panels can be bought for pretty cheap. So I don't see the benefits to making them in this way. Less filler = better build ....just sayin

Had one fitted out as airplane service vehicle late 60’s in Australia. Dad shouldn’t a put heavy equipment way back as I touched the brakes on a wet country tarmac it slid beautifully side on until just nudged the bank...was telling my very concerned older brother “I got it I got it”. Backed up and drove home to Lismore.

Hey Mike, been doing some body filling and the stuff cures so fast I can't seem to get much on before i lose it. I'm I putting to much hardener in it? The instructions seem pretty liberal so I've cut it back some. Still have way too fast I think.

Mike today my friend came over and installed front I-beam on my 67 bus, that I rebuilt last winter on the HF adjustable cart.. Still had a cast on my foot but sitting on the stool working on the beam on the cart it was doable. Do tell the Mayo Clinic they may disagree. Funny the new rubber brake hoses on the front--- took us for ever due to forgetting how and where the bracket to connect to the King Pin grease zerk.. A simple front break hose bracket-- took us forever; but we figured it out. Now being all pump up working on the bus I started looking at you tube videos on restoring a 67 bus. Well guess what videoloaded up yep yours.. I remember watching all the videos you shared with us on this bus. You did an amazing job and short amount of time. Your skill set and vw experience with this bus and beetles ----over the top, or spot on; you show us how to get it done do not break bank-- how to be creative not afriad to fab needed parts and still have time to enjoy life . Oh dear! As soon as I see filler. I know the restoration is bad. Remember lots of small bodges make on big bodge. That bus will fall apart at the first sign of moisture.
