I feel the same as you, it was fantastic just after you poured it, and it's a shame it dried so dark but it's still very very cool, Michelle, especially the top! I think it would look great as a memory ornament, but maybe without the visor. 🤔 I've always wondered about painting my first ever guitar, which is a bit banged up but still playable. I just don't know if painting it would ruin the sound?. I do have 2 more guitars but sometimes I like to play my first one for sentimental reasons. I just love watching you paint anything, and getting to hang out with you is my favourite part. Hello there my lovely! You could remove the paint from the visor and pop in an led puk light/led string lights OR drill through the top & fit a bulb to the top of the helmet to create a really funky lamp?! Good vibes hitting your way xox

If you poured over this again - with perhaps more highly pigmented paints that might not crack like the red did - would the cracked red impact a new layer? I think it is a really cool idea, and while I can see why you'd be upset with the cracking red, I do think that is actually a message, taking into account that it is an old helmet, about how important helmets are - if they are not fit for purpose, or worn or old, they might crack under pressure - just like that paint did. Love your work and love this idea :)

You can Resin it? The texture won’t matter. I think it’s awesome! Love 💕 the Bird!!

Did you use vernis on the end or epoxyhars?

If you have an old helmet with the same visor as your new one you could switch them to paint over. What would happen if you have a white helmet? Would it still turn as dark?

As a 3D art project, I like the wet colors. As a helmet, I like the dry colors much better. I love that you are afraid to try new things.
