This happens when politician run the bank. This fellow is closely affiliated to political leaders. Because of these people SBS is in verge of collapsing. Growing NPA and non scrutinised sanction of loan will have bigger repercussions.

It seems a failure of internal control mechanism that is a serious matter in any financial institution. Embezzlement of Rs. 69 crores might not have taken place in 1 day so that the fraud come into light stated as positive aspects seems lame excuse and taking case lightly rather than accepting the failure of safe guarding public money.

Please don't take me otherwise! This interview is not convincing for me. The money should not be stolen at first place. Whatever the bank and MD did was 'Re active action' had they done 'Pro-active action' it could be prevented. It is juat like - Somebody killing someone and police were able to catch the culprit. And applauding themself that we did fantastic job. The duty of administration is to ensure a crime free society rather than applauding themelf for catching the culprit. "SBS is still trustworthy" - Okay But, In which situation do we call "SBS is not trustworthy" then?

Fantastic interview and well-shared thoughts. This is indeed a difficult time for the bank and its employees, however, it is safe to know that the compliances are taken care of and things are under control. as rightly said, this incident came in as a trigger to do the damage control against higher fraudulent activities. So given the experience, I am sure SBS and all its members will come out of these dark days with more vigor and strength to ensure that the bank sees better days, as it has all the potential to do only better. banking frauds are not new in India in the banking context, it is the damage control practices to safeguard the interest of the depositors that matter and I think SBS will do the needful and get things in order. We have full trust in the MD and the experience he holds. I am sure the entire management will work hard to turn around this incident, soon to greater heights. Best wishes!

Considering the size of the firm it should have been monitored properly right from the beginning having said that as he explained it was found when they conducted a follow up check, which also shows they are responsible. Moreover, It is imperative that SBS gets nationalised and regulated by the RBI with stringent rules and regulations.
