Here are several scenes showing the different whistles used on Iowa Interstate QJ #6988 during one weekend in May, 2019. And before anyone comments on it, the six chime whistle was identified as a Grand Trunk Western whistle after the titles had been added.

The southern 3 chime sounds a lot like a Milwaukee road s-3 3 chime (MILW#261’s original whistle)

Guatemalan whistle sounds like a worn PRR 3 chime. There’s a recording of #460 and they sound identical. 🤣

Not quite. It was a reproduction of a Grand Trunk whistle rather than an original.

Later we found out it is actually a reproduction GTW 6-chime. The Southern and I.C. whistles are all reproductions.

That's because it is one of those whistles. It's that deep Longbell 3 Chime I'm guessing.

Similar. It's based on the Hancock long bell but is tuned different.
