thanks for making a video with better explanation than what other video's have done. when my radio broke it was a task finding out what was wrong. i wasnt sure if my APIM was faulty or if the ACM was bad. i ordered a used ACM from ebay to fix my radio. i read in the forums that you have to match the first letter of the letters in your serial code (FA-FK) with your replacement in order for the hardware to be compatible.
Much appreciated. Yeah the other alternative is to buy one used. However, as you can tell, removing the radio is very tedious so repairing the issue made more sense to me so I wouldn’t have to do it again. Since the same issues can happen again with a used replacement
Just found this video and it saved me some serious cash! Our sons 2013 Taurus had the same problem. The local car audio places were quoting 1600.00-2600.00 for a new radio. I ordered a new Audio Control Module and had it swapped out in an hour thanks to this video. Thanks for posting!!
Hi! I have a 2013 Limited Edition, same issue "No sound from the radio". I asked to a local yard and the have spares but they asked for a serial. My question is, the number in the module is unique per car o there is a coding per model? I'll appreciate your response.
I'm like 20 minutes drive from the repair place! I've been using a BT speaker for three years. Thank you for the video. Others weren't as helpful. I love my 13 Limited. Any issue with wheel bearings or struts? I have some noise from rear passenger side.
Ive had this done twice for $1600 as the modules are $800 so im going aftermarket to get away from these going out. The problem is wirh the keys atleast thats what i took from my experience.
I took mine out to have it sent to the company in description. Once i put my car back together, well it only puts out cold air. Any idea why this would happen?
@@Stangitman hey thanks again I finally got around to getting my ACM out and with your video help I got it out in about 30mins you’re right about a ton of screws.
Check out part two of the video. It will show the end results and now the radio is fixed. I would just send it in to circuit solutions (the link I left in the bio). They will be able to fix the defects, that way you don’t run into the same issue again in the near future with the replacement.
Check your SD NAV card in the arm rest. It might need an update or replacement. It should be next to the USB ports. I do not have much experience with this issue but I recommend starting with that or a master reset.
I have exactly the same problem as you had, my ACM has reference EB3T-19C107-DF. Searching on the internet I didn't find any ACM with the same reference, but I found an EB3T-19C107-DH with only the last letter different, I managed to replace it but as soon as I put the new ACM on the screen "entertainment unavailable". Can you help me with this, if the part I bought is probably damaged or the part number has to be exactly the same as my ACM to work? If it is possible to help me I will be very happy, I have had my car without sound for 5 months just like yours and without getting a definitive solution.
The part number needs to be the same. Otherwise, your going to have to use forscan from the Ford dealership to have it reprogrammed to the alternate ACM.
@@Stangitman gotcha gotcha. We have a 12 Ford Fusion that’s doing this. Only reason I’m thinking about trying aftermarket, Is because it doesn’t have much features anyway. But thanks for the quick reply
That’s alright Taurboy, I was being an ungrateful grouch. One of my core thoughts is, usually you can come away from most videos/ interactions, having learned at least one thing. If so it has been beneficial. I did learn something from yours, it wasn’t the exact thing I was looking for. So, in my ignorance/frustration, I was less the appreciative. For that I’m sorry. Get a tripod 😂😂😂😂
How to open up the control module? My cd player is spinning non stop and i want to remove power from the cd module itself cause i dont use it but I still want the original radio
I’m sure it’s a bunch of screws and clips that hold It in place. I have not dealt with this issue yet so unfortunately I would not be able to answer that for you
