Your head unit won't support this. For the headunit to have the fibre optic (MOST) connection port you will need EITHER the Harmon Kardon sound system fitted to your car OR sat nav built in (or both of them). My car doesn't have HK sound system and only came with the standard instrument cluster with the tiny screen (not the 6WA), but as it has built in satellite navigation it has the fibre optic port on the back of my headunit and I bought a cable for less than £10 to connect whichever new cluster I decide to buy to my headunit. If you remove your headunit, if it has MOST on the white label on the top of the headunit it should say in the top right corner "MOST" in bubble style like writing. Mine certainly does as it has the port even though it came without the cable pre-fitted. If your headunit doesn't have the port at all your only option is to replace the entire headunit and upgrade it to one that does - this is likely to cost you £400+ as you'll need a replacement set, such as the screen, controller knob as each system works on different voltages and one screen may not work with another screen from a different car due to the voltage difference.

6WA already has MOST cable in almost all cases as far as I am aware. I have the standard cluster with the tiny screen and no MOST cable, but the rear of my headunit does have the fibre optic connection so I just bought a MOST cable in prep for either a digital cluster or this 6WB. It's not "plug and play" as even if you buy a virginised 6WB cluster (i.e brand new or one that's been virginised with the vin and mileage removed) you still have to code the cluster. To my knowledge this cannot be done using bimmercode and only via things such as Esys, INPA or ISTA-P whereby the vehicle order is edited.

@@thefiestaguy8831 I guess I will have to find a shop to do it. I want a digital dash on my car but most i found online don’t have those “m” elements on it.

I didn’t notice the refresh rate being any different than the iDrive screen
