Not quite so. This was supposed to be Susan's storyline at first (her son was supposed to die at the end of season 5) but they changed their mind. Dana got the offer for BoP months later.
Susan would of been better for this storyline I think people would of related to it more in regards of losing her son and the fact she started from season 1 no offence but Katherine seemed too level-headed and smart to just have a nervous breakdown unlike Susan who is way more sensitive and the way she snapped in season 8 said it all. Writers just made Katherine look like a bitch when she wasn't she was actually hurting which some would feel sorry for I know what it feels like to be the other person it's not nice. They should never of got rid of this show it really mirrored feminism in another light within the noughties they should at least bring it back and add new characters it would be great to see what's going on in Wisteria Lane today
I have to say something. Katherine suffered a lot in season 6. And Mike and Susan were absolutely horrible with her in this season. Mike threatened her to drag her out of the church if she doesn t leave. They kissed in front of her and Mike added: '' I don t know if she saw it''. Mike said that Katherine doesn t represent anything to him, that they had nothing, that he doesn t care enough about her to kill her, that he got a rich relationship with Susan... They were absolutely horrible with Katherine who was suffering. And Susan has the guts to think that Katherine stole Mike from her... Despite what Katherine has done in season 6, she s'not the one to blame. I feel bad for the poor Katherine. Don t worry, you re going to get another man or woman who is worthier than all the men you got in your life. I used to like the couple Mike and Susan in the past but now not anymore.
It only became apparent that Katherine was actually having a breakdown after a few episodes. For the first few, it looked like she was just being a b*tch. I don't blame Mike and Susan for the way they treated her. They didn't know she was sick. And when Mike said he didn't care about her, she HAD just told his 6 year old son that his mommy was a bad person, then picked him up from school AFTER he explicitly told her to stay away from his son. Most people would have reacted the same way if someone was interfering in their marriage like Katherine was. Yes, she did suffer a lot, and once everyone realized she was having an actual breakdown, they were pretty understanding and quick to forgive her.
Katherine was the most misunderstood character out of the group she was having a nervous breakdown in this season she just wanted to be loved you can't help but feel sorry for her. At the start of season 4 she was rather cold and mean but only because she was actually vulnerable and unhappy. When it got to season 6 the mask got taken off, she let her guard down around other people and started to feel more like a doormat to the other housewives. I think she was another complex character just like Bree but very misunderstood x
Catherine is one of the strongest women in the show. She survived her daughter being killed at a young age, domestic abuse, her husband cheating on her. No-one has ever truly loved her and what Mike did to her was horrible. I don't blame her for having nervous break down. Mike was using her only to forget Susan only because she couldn't be alone. I understand that Mike tried his best, but he should have told her upfront that he used her and he doesn't love her. Did he do so? No, he told that she is one even Dave wanted to kill her to get back at Mike because Mike showed everyone including Catherine, that she is the one. Also, he bought her a ring and proposed to her. So, what Mike did to Catherine was horrible, he used her when he was in pain, but when she was in pain, they were laughing at her. Also, the reason that Catherine stole Mike from Susan doesn't count, because Susan was dating painter and Mike wanted that himself. It is a completely Mike's fault.
