This is a small cargo trailer that I converted to a toy hauler/camper, mainly to haul my side by side to off road locations. It is setup for total off grid living situations and is quite cozy!
NEW!!

That air conditioner was such a great idea, then you’re not cutting a giant hole in the side of your trailer with a big air conditioner sticking out all year long. I am going to copy that exactly.

Glad to help! So I vented the return air into the floor in the center of the v nose going out underneath the trailer. I forgot to show that part in the video. Thanks for watching!!

This is exactly what I want to do so I can haul my motorcycle in a trailer that’s towable by my SUV when I’m not motocamping from the motorcycle. I’m retiring in Oct 2023. I could buy a truck and a toy hauler and then be stuck at work for a few more years until they’re paid off, but no way do I want to do that. I have plans! 😊 Thanks for sharing your build. I subscribed.

I live in Michigan, I have traveled all over and in the UP camping. 5 yrs ago we set up bed cots to sleep in my trailer, instead of a tent, because it rained for 2 straight days, in Manistee. We had half people thought it was a great idea, the other half shaking their heads, well that's because they was dry in their RV's. Long story short, 2nd night it rained our tent was flooded, looked like a little lake. Lol. E ended up leaving tent there,, no way undo do it unless you wanna be standing in 2ft water to undo it.. I'm glad to see more people are building them up. We have a beautiful state to explore. I love it. Happy trails!!!😉

Great video! I love how you built it to suit your needs. Using it as a toy hauler presents special challenges and you did a great job with meeting those. We use our Jeep as a "toy" and opted to use 100 percent of the space as a camper. Thanks for posting your awesome video and loved the memories in the wall!

I dream of kitting up the Tacoma for off road use, maybe someday! I have a hard time using the vehicle that gets me to the trail and is responsible for getting home, but folks like you do it all the time! Yeah it was especially hard as the sxs takes up almost the entire space. Thanks for commenting!!

Nice trailer build. This is a smaller variant and version of what I am acquiring items for. I have a 7x16 enclosed. No real "frills", only the practical needs and a few creature comfort items. Instead of the tie-down rings mounted to the floor, I am going with e-track on the floor and walls. I am also going with the Disc-O-Bed setup. I need three in my case. I am anticipating hauling an Argo 8x8 or two 6x6's. I see you most important feature is your hat.

Ernest, good luck with your build! I'm thinking about getting rid of the disc o bed setup as it's a bit of a pain to set up and tear down (just trying to streamline my process). May have brackets towards the ceiling that store the beds (mattress and plywood) on them that I can manually move down to other brackets on the wall where the beds will be used, if that makes sense. Going with a larger trailer is a great idea, in hindsight a 14' dual axle would be best for my setup! Thanks for watching!

Hi Hank, I’d say for the 3 panels, charge controller, batteries and cables you’re looking at about $900. Depending on how long you want to stay, you might be able to just buy batteries and charge them up before you leave and when you get home and skip solar altogether. Good luck on your build!!

Yikes! Your sink is over your electrical . . . It's probably fine but just the *thought* of it is disconcerting. What I would really like to see is how you did a decent job of paneling the trailer. Materials and methods. Mine new 6 x 12 trailer is covered in some pretty ugly plywood with large screws that I need to hide. I'm planning on a cedar ceiling but have not decided on what to do with the walls yet. Where did you get the rubber floor and does it small bad?
@bwiesman

Yeah, I thought of that when I put it there. I’m going to make a diverter on top just in case it leaks. The paneling are original Paneling I just sanded and painted it. As for the floor, it doesn’t smell at all. I will try to find a link as the local store went out of business. Thanks for watching!
