Felicidades!
I have been a super fan for more than a month now. She has embraced the original Brazilian Samba Triste with such Love and Commitment and then, as if that wasn't enough, she got into the American Song Book wiih the same passion...Bravo to Joan Chamarrow and the whole team of fine professional musicians who nurtured her.
Ever since I first saw Andrea. Just looking for some nice jazz and she popped up. I was so taken by this little girl and her talent that I found myself down the rabbit hole searching for more Andrea. Ive been following her like a puppy ever since. The rest of the guys too. Andrea is a gift from God.
Her singing has been maturing all along and now her trumpet chops are out of sight. The woman is a national treasure and I hope she stays happy and creative until she's an octogenarian. Dare I say it's like watching my own child grow up, these last dozen years.
Andrea Motis is a very talented lady. A fantastic jazz musician. It is great that someone so young is keeping this genre of music alive. I hope to come to Barcelona to hear her playing in a live concert. All the musicians in the band are great:
This is getting ever so amazing every time I open a new YT video and there is this amazing lady with all the simplicity and no extra bravado. Saying this, she has the most enviable backing team, pianist that one could wish for and a guitarist with a soul. All add to the beauty of this amazing ensemble. Fantastic is word that I can no longer say completes my expression.
I have seen Ms Motis play with a number of different musicians. She likes to maintain high standards and that is one of the secrets of her success. Nothing is an accident - it is planning and hard work.
Andrea Motis keeps growing as an Artist more and more everyday! A consummate professional! And the outstanding combo too! One of my favorite compositions by Horace Silver R.I.P. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🎼🎶🎵🎺🎤🎹🥁🎸🎸🎵🎶🎼
CONCIERTO REMARCABLE. LA VOZ Y TROMPETA SIN IGUAL.BELLISIMAS. LOS MUSICOS, GENIALES TODOS. ME ENCANTO ESTE CONCIERTO. ANDREA SE VEIA MUY COMODA. Y MUY BIEN VESTIDA. LES MANDO UN BESO A TODOS. VIVA EL JAZZ!
What a fabulous concert ,Andrea absolutely fantastic with a great collection of songs ,not forgetting her backing group brilliant, just wish this was on DVD to purchase please please make it available . Thank you Andrea for giving me a terrific hour of entertainment.
What a fantastic hour. It matters not to me what the language Andrea sings in for her musicality is universal as are all the other instruments in the quintet. I will be watching this again and again
I'm a big fan of Andrea Motis and the exceptional Maestro Joan Chamorro. In fact, the entire group of talented musicians Chamorro brings to the stage are a delight to the mind and spirit of the listener. Ms. Andrea transitions her music easily and smoothly. Here she takes us on a voice, instrumentation and rhythm journey of Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine" to get our feet tapping and hands clapping.
Thanks so much for posting this wonderful concert by the Andrea Motis Quintet at Orrius on 11th July 20. I was there with my wife and 13 year old daughter who recorded the concert on her smart phone. Unfortunately the audio was of poor quality though the video was fine, so this posting brings back wonderful memories. Orrius is a beautiful village nestled in the hills about 60 km outside Barcelona and not easy to get to, but Andrea's father Ramon Motis arranged everything for us transport, tickets, and, we just ordinary jazz lovers, were given VIP treatment. Heading back from the swimming pool (the only place open in the village) that evening, we heard Andrea's heavenly trumpet reverberating amongst the surrounding hills. The quintet were putting together some new combinations, I suppose for future concerts, but there was no doubt that Andrea was directing operations. We were allowed to stay and watch. The concert took place in the church square, the stage is in front of the church main entrance. The atmosphere was electric, the whole village, old age pensioners and children included, turned up and towards the end, people got up to dance. I think the concert lasted over an hour and a half so this posting is an edited version, but thanks once again.
Thank you for giving us this complete information. It is always nice to learn some first hand details. By the way, the concert took place on July 2019.
Andrea ...fabulous solo...reminiscent of señor blues Freddy Hubbard!

( scherzavo......)
The talent was there, better than ever. But IMO, the whole scene was flat. Maybe distance from audience. Dunno. Personally love the portuguese tunes. Miss Chamorro, but he might not have made a difference. ......too much space, too much emotional disconnect. Guys looked tired. See Catania and the San Javier concerts to compare. Having so said, not all venues come off equally well. So it goes......:)
The audience (300-400 people) seems filtered out. I was there and can assure you the atmosphere was electrifying, everybody seemed to know Andrea personally and people started to dance midway through the concert.
@@ferreiraronald7873 Thanks, i appreciate your reply. I thought they played very well. Videos do not always tell the story. A good sound engineer is hard to find:)
