I hope he makes it to the league. He’s a very humble and determined young man and an old school type of big man player. met him once in Manila where he was The Finals MVP of the Ateneo University HS basketball team in 2017 and he dominated in that tournament with his skill set. This kid hasn’t changed at all, still very kind and respectful and he has improved his skill as a big man. Stay Strong young man!

Fun fact: Kai is right handed but shoots with his left. Edit: In an interview with Kai and Ervin Sotto (Kai's father). Ervin who was a former pro basketball player in the Philippines, brought young Kai to their practices. When Kai saw one of his father's teammates Ali Peek who is a lefty Kai thought Ali Peek's shooting form was weird so Kai started copying Ali's shooting form for fun. Later he decided to stick with his left as his shooting hand since he said he already good with his right hand. Although Kai shoots with his left I noticed he uses his right hand more to finish in the paint. Also he prefer the right handed post position where the player can make a hook shot going in the middle using his right hand.

@@jpjovs1786 I'm being realistic here, he has good athleticism for his height. Maybe not extreme athleticism like others, but Yao Ming, Duncan Marjanovic, Jokic and even Doncic don't have mad athleticism but they offer more than that and Kai is tha kind of player. I was actually referring to longevity of his career. Bol Bol checked all the boxes to become a super star , except his weight which might have contributed to his injury that sent him to Gleague, who knows when can he play in the league. Injury is inevitable to uber athletic guys, specially for extremely tall players and we don't that for Kai(not soon). Zion Williamson, is a great player, uber athletic big guy, very aggressive but his weight also worries the experts coz he's also injury prone and if he doesn't lose weight and work in his lower leg, he might be ending his career sooner than he thinks. I'd bet on Shaq more than Zion, if they're the same age. Zou Qi who is more athletic and have longer wingspan than Kai played in the NBA, was sent to Gleague, got injured and sent back home to China.I'd rather have Jokic or Marjanovic than him on the team. There are other players who were hyped during their youth but didn't quite "make it" to the league. Since Kai is, as of now, out only shot at NBA, we might as well hope for the best. We know he needs to improve more but let's dream big for him and for the country.

@@athenstar10 I like that, a fellow Filipino Avid fan you'll know when it's a Filipino you're talking to, when they are this knowledgeable, if it was the old style of play Yao Ming style of play for Kai is best suited, but in terms of fast phased games nowadays with more stretch big being more in demand, then yes, a fine example of Bol Bol which in terms of skills is similar to Kai, but is injury prone and really weak at the 5 , what I want Kai is to be more of Nikola Jokic, he has to gain more weight and be more efficient in his shooting, he has the passing ability but he is a bit slow and tend to be passive in defense, I just dont want to put a high expectations to Kai because for me him being in the NBA is already an achievement, but I understand your enthusiasm..

@@athenstar10 lol, don't compare Yao Ming, Duncan Marjanovic, Jokic and Doncic with a NBA wannabe , please . Kai is not even doing great in NCAA. Duncan Marjanovic, Jokic even Doncic is way stronger and athletic than Kai.and i never see a 7 feet guy with such short arms. is he a fucking Tyrannosaurus ?Jokic or Marjanovic is way better than Zou Qi ,Zou Qi is better than Kai. Jokic is all star, Marjanovic is a strong bench player , zhouqi could be a good role player. kai? not even close to that
