Hi Benji - I would recommend you going to any convenience stores in Japan to get cooling menthol wipes for the heat. They're wipes with a cooling effect when you wipe on your skin and super helpful in japan!!

My first introduction to Japanese candies were Poifull jelly beans more than 3 decades ago and I still love it 😋 What a wonderful and fun trip with your 3 older girls! They'll have such wonderful memories of this Japan trip with their dad and how they got to experience all these fun snacks. It doesn't matter what age you are, Japan's 7/11 and grocery stores are so much fun to shop in. That's the first place I hop into when I land in Japan....fill up my mini fridge with lots of Japanese drinks and snacks before I start my tour.

I just moved to Aomori Japan for three years back in September. I haven’t made it up to Hokkaido yet! If you can find them at the grocery store look for the frozen grapes ice cream. They are in a bag. So yummy during this hot summer.

Milk, eggs taste so delicious in Japan, you should use google translate to read the packages just scan ur phone over it and it would translate all the Japanese words to English

You have to try the Hokkaido milk and crema icecream if you can find it. Also my fave are those boiled eggs! It’s cooked so PERFECTLy also tastes like it has a hint of salt boiled in it! Outta of the world eggs for me! Also grab some ice cup and get their coffee you can brew right there by the counter!

I know late comment, but the chains (7-Eleven, Daiso, etc) aren’t exactly “stealing” similar food items. These products are actually made by the same company that produces the “branded” ones. It’s the same here. Home brands are manufactured and packaged by the big food companies.

You should try Mama noodles or Wai Wai noodles dry. Take out the flavor packets and crunch up the noodles in the bag. Add the seasoning. Shake it up and enjoy.
