After changing my break booster now my truck runs funky I’ve already changed the break line switch as well.. When accelerating it feels like the break never stop I let off the gas pedal and it stops as if I was pressing on the breaks.. note: at times it runs normal would I have to adjust that rod?? Plz help if you can my family business is counting on it
👍👍👍 now I have a base on where to keep looking, I changed out the vacuum pump (2nd time), and it helped with my AC but now my brake pedal goes straight to the floor
Another thing you can do is purchase a master cylinder for same year truck but for a fsuperduty model u half to slightly oblong the mounting holes but it bolts right in and is a huge improvement for braking power
had the same problem on my 96. New master cylinder and bled the hell out of the brakes. Still long and soft pedal. Replaced the ABS unit and bled the brakes. Fixed the problem. The seals go bad in the unit and causes the pressure to bypass
i have a 97 obs 7.3 non intercooled that has a soft pedal. has new master cylinder and fluid. have to pump the pedal 2-4 times to get a decent pedal. any ideas? has 130k miles
Are your rear drums correctly adjusted? It's ridiculous the difference it makes if those rears aren't adjusted right. The only real way to tell is to put the truck on stands with both rears off the ground, then adjust them till you just can't turn them by hand, then back them off just a little til you can turn them by hand again. Believe me, it makes a big difference. Another nice upgrade option is to swap on a hydroboost system from a SD truck, eliminating the vacuum assist system altogether. Just another option...
I am always on look out for good degreaser. My SD 7.3 has had bad power steering leak for years, caked up and finally got redhead steering box and new lines. I will give h7 try!
H7 is amazing! It'll work very well for you, little water and some scrubbing will get it extra clean. Spray it on and let it soak for 30 seconds or so!
There is one out there locally available and works great is called "oil eater" and very reasonably priced. It's a little harder on the finish than mild detergent so precautions should be used to keep it off sensitive surfaces.
I have a 2000 Ford 7.3 powerstroke my problem is my break feels like a brick so hard to push down it doesn't stop on a dime at all it's Coast to a stop been at the dealer for 5 days they still haven't figured out what's wrong with my brakes they replace the brake assist still the same problem they say it's a internal fault to something like that
Got the same problem right now, replaced the booster and the vacuum pump lines are all fine. Pedal is just really hard and brakes don't really work at all
I'll attach the link for the cooler! I used braided 3/8" Aeroquip line and fittings. The fittings for the transmission are from Dorsey Diesel, you"ll have to call and ask for them!! www.jegs.com/i/Derale/259/15870/10002/-1?CAWELAID=230006180001366812&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=15769068431&CATCI=pla-221532253991&CATARGETID=230006180037476257&cadevice=c&jegspromo=thirdparty&gclid=Cj0KCQiAnNXiBRCoARIsAJe_1cowlgeC2SOhSyqlTQUIeI7VgEE553CFV5ZvhYd2Jewq9M4Mj-0MgcwaAntXEALw_wcB
I like your videos! I got a '97 turbo duelly, I was watching your vaccum guage and I don't think you got enough?? Mine holds around 12lbs. normal/idle and 20 driving? All new vac.pump!
I'm currently in the process of building my 96, anyway you could make a video or tell me everything you did/ had to do to make that kind of hp.. love the truck man!
