I love Pete, he is so smart, clever and well-spoken. I hope he is President one day. Look what he has done for Transportation and Infrastructure. He is such a diplomat and would do well as Secretary of State and be more involved than if he were VP. I also like Shapiro for VP.

I agree. He is a star comfortable on the world stage. He could focus on foreign affairs while Kamala primarily focuses on the domestic front. That would be awesome for the US.

Rachel Maddow said that Trump has put 20 people in election certifiers in various states who will refuse to certify the election counts where Trump loses. Will you ask your guides what month the Presidential election win will be finalized and announced, please? I fear the win will be delayed over and over while Trump tries another coup!

I think on paper Josh Shapiro is her best option. He has a 61% approval rating and that comes with 19 electoral votes.

I LOVE Pete but unfortunately I just don't think our country is just ready AT THIS TIME for a gay VP , however I think the American voters WILL BE OPEN to a Gay person in the next decade. Unfortunately since keeping ANY GOP PERSON out office is MORE IMPORTANT than ANYONE PERSON gay or straight. Again, I LOVE Pete and am in awe of his intelligence and his ability to communicate....what a person!

I agree. Do you know if there is a strong Democrat in Florida? 30 electoral votes. Unfortunately, I don’t know of one at this time. Even the Dems who I know in FL say they are vastly outnumbered.

don’t fully agree with that. the country would undoubtably vote for a gay president, on their own. polling and surveys consistently show that, the leads pete held over trump in head to head matchups throughout 2019 and 2020 demonstrate that. BUT, im not sure the country would be ready for BOTH a black woman AND a gay man TOGETHER at the SAME TIME… and that’s the issue this cycle HOWEVER, the country is never ready for ANYTHING until it happens! in 1959 it wasn’t ready for a catholic president, in 2007 it wasn’t ready for a black president, in 2015 it wasn’t ready for a reality star president with zero political experience

Thannk you Kevin. I have felt Shapiro but Pete would be amazing as either position . he does speak several languages, concert pianist. He would be the ultimate Secretary of State. It's ironic because I just watched a feature on he and his husband. Pete mentioned it was good to make the move away from DC, closer to his family and their twins. He is brilliant and gracious. I think this would be a good year to have Pete as VP (I think we are willing), and I do think he would be MORE valuable as Secretary of State. He would be great working with world leaders and it would set him up "bigley" for a future presidential run - the experience would be very valuable.

Just from watching politics a long time, Shapiro can very possibly deliver the state of Pennsylvania which is vital to election. Mark Kelly can possibly deliver Arizona but we don't want to lose that Senate seat. Mayor Pete no longer has a base in his state and was only a mayor there. At this point, he would be much better positioned in a vital Cabinet post. So, just political expediency considerations, Shapiro seems to be IT.

Kevin, The elections are first certified in each state house before the certified certificates are sent to Washington DC for the January 6th Congressional certification where the VP (President of the Senate) ceremonially opens & reads out the certifications.
