Rather than spending money on this rear end your better off and much more cost effective and more sturdy to replace it with a Buick GN 8.5 rear-end 1984-87 or a Ford Mustang GT 8.8 rear end 1985-93 these GM 7.6 rears will not take 400+ horsepower with a sticky drag radial or slick it may be ok on a hard street tire hard launches with a sticky tire and over 400+ crankshaft horsepower it's going to break
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I thought that was strange that a lot of these came with open differentials. But I added an Auburn LSD to fix the problem. Just wish I could find a GN 8.5 rear for my vehicle. Do you have a youtube channel that shows your 88 Monte?
