Honestly just seeing furnaces with the smooth stone texture on top makes me so happy :) Surely the rest of this video won’t ruin this nostalgic vibe with nightmarish scenarios
im really intrigued by this channel, based off the first video alone. the base design is very interesting, and everything perfectly captures the paranoia of the character that he's being watched. the somewhat cryptic diary is also lovely, it feels so natural seeing him type
Something to note: Book and quills didn't come out until 1.3.1. Also, look at the player's hand. See how it lags a bit when they look around? That wasn't added until Beta 1.8. There's something deeper here.
Commenters talk about something other than the youtuber that recommended them the video challenge (please ffs) but yeah I love the writing in this video, as tropey as it is for the mc to talk to the audience, the monologue is very effective

this is not some saintly ARG it is just a youtuber doing pretty mid one that loses any illusion of being real and scary and promoting it to corny youtube audiences who like video essays and exaggerated stories
Oof. I can already empathize way too much with this protagonist about the world, everythings going at a billion miles an hour all the time. Cant wait for the horrors™ to affect me even more because of that.

Something to note is that Ben2Fr's house in this video is similar to the one in Zeemyth's first youtube video: "There's a strange door in my minecraft world". I'm unsure if that video is connected to Ben2Fr in anyway but it's probably just an old concept brought back from the dead.
