Great video guys! I would say you might have benefited from a flashing lights warning with that V-Tech gif though. 350z cars are about to rocket in value globally, so get one quick!
Picked up a 92 Chevy Camaro L98 V8 in great running condition and good cosmetic condition recently for $2,300. The paint is starting to chip away and getting it redone isn't cheap, but considering it has little to no rust, drives excellently for now, and no damage to the body work, I think i made out pretty well so far. It also seems old camaros are easy to come by. At least I see them posted often.
You can respray it yourself. Just get an air compressor with a paint gun (200$), and rent a paint booth (50-100$/day where I live), then buy the paint and supplies. Total cost would be around 1000$, expensive in regards with the price of the car (2300$) but sure beats a 3-5000$ professional paint job.
I own two third gen camaro's (love them), the L98 tpi was sadly very anemic for a 5.7L V8. I would look into getting a different intake, headers and bigger exhaust if you want to get some nice power out of it without having to mess with the computer too much, if at all.
For under 10k dollars I would take a: -FRS (yes it's possible get one that cheap and without any problem, rare but possible, it only applies to the FRS, no for the BRZ or the GT86) -Any Mercedes C class -Audi TT VR6 Quattro -BMW 135i (it's it self an M series, without the body kit and the trim) -Infinity G35 or G37 (personally I like more the G35, but the G37 is a latest model and quite more powerful) -Lexus IS350 -Lexus IS300 mk1 (it has an 2JZ!!!) -Lexus GS300 (it has an 2JZ!!!) Yeah, I know that many of those cars are more like luxury cars than sport cars, but who cares with the power of each one, but personally I would get an Boxster if I have to chose one
Here he is showing 2 uk s2000's. Most s2ks in the UK are rusted out or have a lot of miles on them. To get a semi clean s2k ap1 you are going to need 15k+. (There are also a few exceptions of people in bad financial situations for example, so provided you wait long enough, you might find one
Mu Grandfather owns a 1994 BMW 316i and I already told him that he shouldn't sell it because when I reach the age of 18 I will claim it. He agreed and he will give me the car and the deed of sale. But it has problems: 1.Paint in the badge 2.The wipers 3.There are too many stickers in the windshield 4.Interior 5.Gas cap 6.Front bumper 7.Engine
stmk2020 the awd and aws was vr4/rttt specific. I don’t remember what the GTO models were because forget japan. But I wouldn’t count on a 3s to be “cheap” with the countless problems the things have.
In the states yes, other markets there was an NA AWD, or it might have just been Japan, can't quite recall which it is. And yeah, the video maker should have specified that only the vr4 and RT/TT have the goodies. In the states the base model, SL, and RT are FWD only and have a 222hp NA version of the same engine, although I believe later year Stealths were downgraded to a SOHC version making even less than that. And yeah, they are a little heavy, but not much by modern standards, considering their features. They're as reliable or more as any other car if maintained properly and taken care of, most of their faults are caused by ignorant or negligent owners. And if you cheap out and buy a basket case, that's what you'll get, but that's true of any used sports car. That said, parts for repairing and or modifying are expensive compared to more mainstream platforms, and harder to come by as well and they can be complicated/difficult to work on as well.
Same deal for Norway, the cheapest 350Z is 20k £ and the s2000 is very rare, prices therefore too high. Boxter: no car guy wants them anyway, but so many overpay for them. Mustang... importing AM enthusiasts would never get that abomination, forget it. (5th gen is a true letdown) 3000gt: WEIGHT! and often poorly maintained M3 E36: roughly 20k £ MX5? well, there's a lot of rice and unfinished projects, but its cheap too. However its the size of a go-karts bigger brother... My car of choice is the 200sx, sometimes you can get early stage project cars for a small handful and easily restore them to road legal standards. (despite norway having some of the worlds strictest regulations)
1. Dodge Stealth & Mitsubishi 3000GT exist separately IN THE US 2. BMW Z3 has an M roadster that is under $12,000 10,000£ a. US MODELS had v6 2.5, 2.8, 3.0 & 3.2 (325hp)
Viral Vehicles Not to worry man! Still amazing video, and you can have some challenge with the next video finding those cheap yet sporty cars. Keep the quality videos comming.
I wouldnt touch the Porche or the BMW but the other suggestions are solid. Ive also heard the 3000gt's start to burn oil like a mfer as they age so thats also something to look out for
As a broke person, can confirm. I have a dodge stealth. $900 for it 😁 I love it. Up keep on it a little expensive and difficult cuz the parts are not being manufactured anymore, but a great car!! Next car is Mustang
All of these cars are fairly cheap in comparison to something more modern, but they'll all catch up to those prices in maintenance (minus the Miata) unless you do the work yourself. I'm a trained technician, owned three BMW's (two E39's and one E46) and I can say that parts are moderately expensive but still manageable while being really easy to wrench on. The E36 M3 as well as the Mustang, S2000, 350Z and Miata are also relatively easy to work on with most also having spare parts at good prices. The only cars I would say shouldn't be here is the Porsche Boxster and the 3000GT VR4. I admittedly love the VR4 but, while affordable for immediate purchase, it is not an amateur mechanics friend. A sideways V6 with two turbos hiding deep within the setup all crammed inside a small engine bay means many hours of frustration and broken parts and make no mistake, this car WILL break in some fashion. Since they didn't sell very well parts are also more expensive and hard to come by. The Boxster is by far the hardest to work on: working on a flat six sitting in the middle of an already small package is not for the feint of heart and/or the untrained. Naturally, being a Porsche, parts will run your wallet dry very quickly, even more so than any older BMW.
Scoobert Doobert No good example of any of these cars is cheap. Decent MR2s will still tend to price lower than S2000s or 350Zs though. And the tuning is pretty vast for the cars. 2nd and 3rd gen MR2s have a lot of options.
You can get a Nissan Maxima for like... 2k or less. Get a 6-speed and you got yourself a nice sedan that’s got 255 horsepower and can be a great sleeper and tuner in the future. Did I mention it has a 3.5 V6 like the 350z? (Not exactly the same engine but very close!)
this list might hold for the uk but for the rest of europe its not likely that half of these cars are cheap. a car i think you forgot is the mk5 golf gti, good handling with 280hp on premium gass. goes for around 2k-6k
yeah, it higly depends on the country you live in, here in germany you can get good BMW e46 models or basically any Golf for under 1500€ but no chance you get a good mustang or a JDM car for that price
I've got one, they are weapons. You won't find decent, well maintained, well modified examples for less than £6000 and that's a steal price. A buddy got £14000 for his recently.
Guys, theres this Slovenian website called Avto.net and you can find cars at around year 2000 for dirt cheap and you can import them to northern EU really easily. I found a 350z for like 3k euro
ALF CARJACKS THE CLOWN I have a ‘98 3kgtSl drove it for 11yrs 06-17 only thing that kept going out on it was the drivers window motor but nothing major until I hopped a curb and busted the radiator but that was on me I’m slowly getting it repaired...
The Legacy is a sports car. It's not recognized as one, but the Legacy was Subaru's rally platform prior to the Impreza. And the Legacy GT is a great bargain, however most people would much rather have a base WRX considering they're around the same price.
In the UK we literally are broke. Over here those cars are actually even more expensive with regulations. Don't start spouting rubbish to other people.
Although you could take it a step further because being in poverty like myself makes things like this really expensive, especially having to pay for healthcare and whatnot
@@redline1916 Russian broke is worse. You can afford Ford Escort V only or shitty Russian cars that are rice if you tune them or trash if you won't. (Less than $500)
Except that Soviet workers couldn't actually get them because the Soviets steered most of their production capacity into the military. They were paranoid that the West was going to invade the second they slacked off military production, just like we were paranoid about the Soviets invading. The only winners of the Cold War were the defense contractors.
so by "broke" you mean "can pay bills and rent, has a stable, well-paying job, and can afford to feed themselves at the same time" Idk about you guys across the pond, but over here in the states we call that "rich"
the problem being a supportive community, or your immature and uneducated point of view? considering you're either too lazy or too unintelligent to spell simple words like "you" and "with" and can't even use basic punctuation like a sane person, i'll just accept the latter as the reason.
the inline six engines from the 325i e46 and up are also quite expensive, my uncle had an e46 328i with an engine leaking. In the Netherlands, the BMW dealer asked around €3-4K for repairing. the car itself was €4K so repairing wasn't worth the effort for my uncle
@@matejmatej1 in Argentina, all of these cars are as unaffordable as brand new Porsche's. There aren't many, as you could count them with your hand. Basically, only rich people can buy these cars in my country.
In Russia and all C.I.S. are pretty much the same, maybe not x10, but at least x2, x3 times more expesive. Plus huge taxes on everything that has more than 250 hp. Thats so fucked up...
The Mitsubishi 3000GT is the reason I came to see this video. I was pleased to see the E36 M3 made it into this as well. I have seen a few locally that are still reasonable. But I wonder how that'll change as time goes on.
The best car in this list is definitely the 3000GT VR4. Twin turbo, all wheel drive, all wheel steering, electronically controlled suspension, Active Aero, twin piston brakes, etc. You can easily push over 500hp with these cars. And they are fairly easy to work on too. Although relatively affordable, they are definitely not the type of cars I'd recommend for broke car guys unless you know how to work on these cars.
Fully agree there. The 90s Mitsubishi line up was second to none, they made some superior impressive cars back then, Diamante, Galant VR4, Cyborg, GT3000, Pajero etc
PetitCorpsSalade Compared to the supra and skyline of its time, they are not much heavier at all. The 3000GTs are way more attainable than a supra and skyline given the number of them they sold so teenagers are much more adept to acquiring these cars which usually gives the platform a bad rep. Also, the fact the 3000gt wasn't featured in fast and furious really took a toll on its potential value in the marketplace
Well, the big difference is that the RB26 and 2JZ engines are known for their reliability... And it's not like they are necessarily well taken care of either :p I own none of those cars, I've got a built CA S13, and a diesel hatchback, and I want a Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT VR-4) because I had one back in the days in Gran Turismo 1, so I'm trying not to be biased :p
i know im late to this conversation but i owned a vr-4 with 176k miles and it wasnt horribly bad for the mileage on it. but when it did break down it was expensive. oh i miss it so bad.
You do get Corvettes here, even if imported. However C5 is a GT car, not a sports car, (at least by European standards) and Z06 and newer Corvettes are lot more expensive.
only if you cant work on them >.> other wise parts are cheap. The saying goes if you weren't a mechanic before you bought a 3000gt you WILL be once you do lol. Labor costs are the issue on the 3000gt since everything is a PITA to get since the engine is transverse mounted. Other then that they are just as reliable as any other car as long as you don't treat like its a "25 year old car)like so many people do.
@@az_3kgt714 Absolutely correct, I have a 3000GT. I knew a bit about cars when I bought it. Since owning it I've had the engine out and rebuilt it, different turbos and other supporting mods required etc etc. If you can't work on cars don't buy one it will kill you. If you do and you don't mind getting mucky they are a weapon and a pleasure to drive. Like owning a rollercoaster.
Make a video about really cheap first cars! That would be just amazing. Because most of the very young drivers can not afford a car that cost that much. Insurance, road-tax, fuel cost en maintaines are so expensive that most teenagers end up with a car that cost around 500 until a 1000 euros/pound. I don't think you will apply, but this is a really good topic I think so..😉🖒
Test it even under 100k mileage without technical or optical defects and with hardtop. Original not to forget. btw it's an oldtimer Here go check it out: suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=248680836&damageUnrepaired=NO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&isSearchRequest=true&makeModelVariant1.makeId=11000&makeModelVariant1.modelId=18&pageNumber=3&scopeId=C
Boosted Fool You have no idea !!!!! Here in South Africa none of those 7 cars are below ZAR 200-000. And my salary which is considered "average" isnt even a tenth of that !!
Auto Autopsy Do some research.... A mistsubish sigma has about 200hp... And if you want a car with a sr20 for little to no money you have the Nissan primera... You have the turbo saabs with 200-300hp And a Volvo S60 n S70 all of these cars have more horsepower then the miata... Therefore the miata is never the answer ... Maybe for kids that have never worked on an engine... BTW these are not my favorites just cars that are common in my area...
Only cars that are trully affordable for the broke dudes like me in this video is a cheap beat up early 90s Miata if were lucky to find one for under 3k and a N/A 3000GT wich can be forund for around 1k to 2.5k depending on how beat up it is.Every other car mentioned is expensive.
Yup lol i got my Dodge Stealth rt for only 1,000 and with just an intake and muffler delete and resognators deleted with straight pipe i whoop Brz’s, and 90’s V8 mustangs lol. But pretty fun car even tho its not nearly as fast as the twin turbo version
@@romarmaderazobaluyot219 Still fun as hell! Vtec is basically a poor man's race in a honda le mans/f1 car hahaha! Pretty cool machines IMO if it can fly to 8,000 rpms, plus it's a daily driver.
got 1 for 1,200 engine and tranny were good. But someone got the bright idea of "drifting"in the rain with it..and took out of the left side quarter panel with it.. Now its fixed up and drives pretty well for what was a totaled 944 xD
Miatas are pretty affordable here, you can find a decent one for like 3000 - 4000 euros. 350z on the other hand youd have to pay around 15.000 - 20.000 for one and you'd have to sell everything including your soul to pay the taxes for 3500cc.
^This... You can find pretty cheap mx-5s without much trouble. On the other hand... the 350z... like I just searched the most popular 2nd hand vehicles website in my country and the cheapest 350z I found was a '06 model for 8k like what the fuck xD I won't even bother mentioning all the taxing you'll have to pay every year cause it's 3500cc lol
