The memorable Channel 7 "Colour Machine" promos of the mid 1970s.
Colour TV arrived in Australia in March 1975 .. and so did new logos and theme tunes for the TV stations.
7 began the colour "revolution" with the "Colour your World" theme in 1975 and the following year launched the "Colour Machine" series of promos.. across all its Australian markets .. This is a montage of them.. see if you can spot some familiar faces.

I never grew up in the 70s, but if I did, I would be *obsessed* with this. I sometimes hum this tune even now.

Well everyone knows the colour machine is Seven...7. Gives you orange, yellow, red or green, Seven, 7. If you're blue or in the pink, Things are better than you think, Just colour yourself with the colour machine that is Seven.

This was a follow-up to 1975's Seven's Colours Your World, and it uses the same ending animation as that ID.

I wonder if RTQ7 Rockhampton had those IDs?, though they had a separate logo from that used by the major eastern stations (BTQ, ADS (They started using the circle 7 from July 76), ATN, HSV (used from September 75 on) etc...)

The song was written by Tony Hatch and Jackie Trent, recorded by Petula Clarke in 1966 and it was spelt as steveandnadine said 'Colour My World'it was used by M&M (Smarties) and respelt so as not to strain the few literate yanks as 'Color My world'. And so it goes on and on 45 years later.
