The alphabet method might hard,a lot harder than the what if. Pretending to be someone, that would be a challenge that I would try. I always wanted to be as romantic as Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing and Ghost.

I haven't done the exercises yet but the A-Z one sounds pretty interesting. It forces you to come up with different ways to start sentences instead of maintaining the habit of starting a paragraph with the same word, plus starting with a new word does mean you will have to create new ideas to add

Wirting about a dream seems to have helped me out a little bit. I went to college to learn video game development, and back then I was churning out new idea after new idea and then implementing them into projects in unique ways. I was always quite fond environmental storytelling but ever since the pandemic happened my ability to tell those stories got buried somewhere within me. I wrote about a dream I had but I shifted the perspective it was being told from. For the first time in many years, I felt that spark again.Thank you.

I started the alphabet experiment and got to D. I was wondering if using a made up character name counts? I’m thinking it’s cheating so I won’t do it. The story is about a hobbit named Aaron who wanted to be an adventurer. For D I was thinking “Deveus, a devious thief sought to take advantage of the naive halfling” roughly. I won’t do it though. Best wishes to you.:)

@@Entivate Sorry for my tardiness- there are a few things l do myself. I was 9 when l wrote my 1st poem, that was 50 yrs ago, lol! I write many things not just stories. I have always wanted to go to Europe but l can't even do a weekend outside the city. 🙁 But l find parts of my city that remind me of something European I've seen on tv, so when l walk there l kind of pretend l am really in that part of Europe! Playing tourist in your own city when you can't afford to be elsewhere is a good imagination exercise. It can also be fun & calming, so even if you don't suddenly come up with an idea, at least your mind is a little more relaxed- which helps let in the vibes & thoughts you are looking for when you are looking for new ideas. I am not techy at all, so l could only reply publically this way & was a bit worried/embarrassed people would see it & think it was stupid, but alas this was the only (public!😳) way to reply, lol! Hope the Easter Bunny left you lots of great eggs (i.e. ideas)! Take Care! 😊

A while ago I was walking down the street. Before I reached the end of the street I saw something strange. Carrying a cigarette on their backs was a colony of ants. Darkness made it hard to see clearly but I am certain it was unlit. Every now and then I feel like I am losing my mind, but this was real! Following the ants, my gaze ignored everything else. Going down the street, the little ants looked as absurd as ever. However, what could intrigue an insect about a cigarette? I kept on wondering as the ants made their way. Just as they reached the end of the street, the colony curved into an alley. Kicking stones, I rushed behind the colony of ants. Light from nearby windows assured me of the reality of this unbelievable sight. My brain went fuzzy from the shock. Now, the ants were rushing inside an open door. Opening the door even further, I entered a small seemingly abandoned apartment. Perhaps, this was the ants’ home. Quietly, I glanced around the place. Red chairs were the only piece of furniture. Seconds passed and I briefly lost sight of the ants. The smell of smoke however, led me to them where there was a big surprise. Under the only window in the apartment was a man, sitting and smoking a cigarette. Vague images of the man were possible due to the lack of light. Whiffs of smoke filled the tiny area. Xanthic eyes and skin frightened me as the man became aware of my presence. Zooming down the street, I ran back home and went to bed, trying to wake up from this peculiar dream.
