One of the ( if not the best) cycling channel on the internet. Massive thanks to all involved for allowing us mere mortals for the opportunity to watch
@@tristantakevideo credit where credit is due. I have watched every episode and thoroughly enjoy each and every one. I’m a 52 year old cycling tragic who raced on the road from my early teens until late twenties. Recently got back into cycling but regrettably had my bike stolen from outside cafe and unable to replace. I guess the thief needed it more than me, so I get my “fix” through your vlogs.. regards from Tasmania Australia.
Amazing video. As a RU-vid consumer, I'd like to thank Human Powered Health for allowing you to allow us to participate in their training camp. If I ate as much as these guys, I wouldn't be able to afford getting my bike serviced or buying new tires if I get a puncture. Insane food consumption.
So much work went into a video like this. Always beautiful scenery and Tristan is as real as it gets. This channel needs so much love from the RU-vid algorithm!
Absolutely awesome! You are defining a completely new level of cycling content on RU-vid! Congratulations on the work it took to build the trust with the team to gain this level of access and thanks to Human Powered Health for allowing the project!
That's an amazing video. Thanks for sharing your story because we are new in this field and we need this kind of support to grow our cycling riding ways.
Couldn't look away the entire time. What a dream this would be to take part in. Your editing and the breaks to explain each day really help keep your attention well as a viewer.
So good mate. You thank the team for being cool with having you around, but I think you make it easy for them by being cool around the guys yourself, respectful of their objectives whilst also providing absolutely golden insight for us. Gotta love it. You know what I'd love to see? Trickle Down Training. The fact that you're able to ride with the pros says a lot about your own level, you're bloody strong and very.well trained. Those guys being just out of reach for you means that riding with them elevates you as a rider as you strive to hang on, whether that be through fitness, technique, wisdom or whatever. But just imagine, there are guys who look up to you yourself at the level you've reached, who in relative terms see you as the pro just out of reach. I'd love to see you ride with some of us aspiring weekend warriors and see how some of your unique insights can trickle down and elevate the riders looking up to you. A bit like GCN's World Tour to Cat Four, but far less like a dramatised reality TV show and more in your casual, laid-back, hanging out with cycling peeps vlogging style. For example I've never done proper structured training, I don't know how to use my Wahoo to do intervals, and I wing it when it comes to nutrition, so how much quicker could you get a bunch of us up Rocacorba, Els Angels, Rat Penat*, Montserrat, Vallter, Turo de l'Home, Mare de Deu etc.? Benchmark it and measure progress between two efforts, 1-2 months apart to track progress. I'm just rambling now but that'd be good, relatable content for many I reckon. *P.S. How on earth have you not had a stab at Rat Penat yet?? It has your name written all over it and the Garraf roads behind it are stunning.
Just fantastic. I love your longer format videos, taking us on a journey each time. And kudos to you for having the opportunity and then sharing it with us. 🎉
Brilliant documentary style video Tristan. Excellent insight into how a camp runs. Kudos to you for filming so much. BIG thank you to Human Powered Health for allowing you be so open. The very best of luck to you in your racing this year and HPE, Rooting for you all.
Amazing video man. Some of the most exciting cycling content I've seen in a long long time. Cheers for taking us with you. Production quality and storytelling was ace.
Great video. Very well done. Your skills on the bike AND your camera are unparalleled. The shot when your talking to the D.S in the car whilst riding is something Ive never seen before and Ive been watching bike racing since the 80's. That shot should be called the Tristan shot. I dont know how you did it w only two hands. Anyway great episode! Youve raised the bar for one man cycling vlogging.
i think of us keen amateurs have thought exactly that 0:06 until reality of their speed , training and power hits you and out the back! great insight TC!
My second favorite Tristan video… 1st was Atlas.. OMFG.. that’s where the 900 T came from… courage + work.. still blown away with your one handed riding - filming skills At threshold ..Adio!
In this age of sprts dcocumentaries on Netflix,( F1 driving, golf) and HBO, Hard knocks(Football) i realy think an inside look at a year following a team on the cycling tour would be awesome and you would be a natural to do this project.
YO - this is pure GOLD!!!! Anyone NOT watching is missing out on some serious BTS informatio. Thank you Tristan for sharing this, I really do appreciate it!!
More, more, more!!!! Tristan what a great experience. I would give my left one to be able to do something like that. Just awesome. Definitely one of your all time best uploads. Excuse me while I go watch it again.
Need more vids/content like this, very informative and the insight into pro cycling was awesome, this is by far my favourite type of video to watch. In depth, can sit down and enjoy a good half hour plus video, loved it
Awesome video! Great insights into the world of pro cycling and the amount of work and attention to details. No wonder your recent racing has gone so well! Cheers!
Extremely interesting video. I especially enjoyed the details about the training rides and food. Eating anyway seems like a colossal interesting topic. Maybe you could expand on it and do a deep dive.
Thanks man. I did a food episode in September 2022 but there always seems to be more to cover..will aim to do another one with a team sports nutritionist this year. 🙏🏼
Yeah I found myself really interested in the food as well! Would have loved an entire episode on what they ate, why, when, variations, etc., during this training camp.
What a dream come true! Keep the dream alive. I was excited for you while watching this presentation. And actually I learned a few interesting points that I can incorporate into my training as well. Great video and insight that is typically kept at arm’s length and not for consumers consumption. Nice work Tristan. 👍👍
Great video, this is my favorite that I’ve seen of yours by far. It focused on the team, and their experience, which was really interesting and insightful.
I really enjoy your long form videos, with most other content creators I shy away from their longer videos, but with you I like your story telling and know it will be good. I have seen lots of training camp videos, but learnt more about what goes on from this one, little details like riders all go to the bike room in kit + regular shoes and put riding shoes on there. What I would like is more details on the eating, both on and off the bike. As simple as asking a rider what they ate on that ride, ie bars, gels, sports drink. Off the bike, how often, when, what quantities, a few food porn shots and even riders (or team dietician) explaining the choices. A few short interviews with the staff, their role, how they joined the team etc. Seriously You could of made a 30 minute episode for each day and I would watch every minute. It is your behind the scenes videos I enjoy the most, this one, Atlas mountains race, Jack and the TDF route and you photographing Human Powered Health training camp.
Thanks mate, these are all great suggestions. In the madness of trying to document everything while still being a “pro cyclist” I completely missed the chance to film a speaking part with the team nutritionist. But it’s something I plan to do more of in future as lots of people seem to be interested in that side of things. Appreciate the thoughtful reply and support as always! 🙏🏼
@@tristantakevideo I did forget you were trying to survive por cyclist training camp. If it was me doing the same relative effort, I would be refusing to come out of my hotel room after day 2. Only suggestion I could make is, if you are going to do something similar again. Plan ahead, write a list of what you want to do, share it with the team's PR people, get them to tee up the "interviews". So when you have finished your training ride, had your recovery food and you are looking for more recovery (ie sleep), there is a knock on your door and your next "interview" is go.
Great video 👍. My dream is to become a professional rider and i’m currently a junior so it’s great to see videos like this and learn more about the life of a professional cyclist. Keep it up 💪
great video - what a production - luv it, a lot of very interesting cycling team inside info :) and...what a beast you are :D almost finishing with a pro contract there :)
whenever you show the b-roll of sprint trains from sideview, I imagine you filming them with your phone on the opposite side of the road while also riding the bike
This was one of your best . I love to see the watts you and the pros put out and the nutrition. Very well done. You should be very proud at how well you performed. I would like to see some info on their offseason training programs, ie weight training and any cross training they do. keep up the good work.
Great mix of story telling and technical info without too much fan boying or worshipping. Would like to know more about breakfast and dinner foods, in more detail without giving away team secrets
@@rbonn3880 he was doing above 5watts per kg efforts on climbs multiple times. This is the level of the winners of my local uphill races and National level gran fondos...
Thanks Tristan great video and it illustrates just how tough riding for a team is. I hope by now Paul was it is back on his bike. Pre Covid we went to the Algarve where I hired a bike. We were up north so I found roads steep enough for me an OAP 😂 You've now got another Sub.
First video ive seen of yours and this insiders look was extremely entertaining. Would be cool one the next one to feature more of the riders with mini off the cuff interviews and more on the nutrition. Let's be honest...we all wanna see the pros slamming donuts, baked beans and those quaintly packages pasta cubes. Great video
Thanks for watching mate 🙏🏼 I released a two-part mini series in December with exactly this idea..riding with and interviewing a bunch of the riders. Have a watch if you’re interested.
i absolutely enjoyed this video. thanks to this amazing team and thanks to you for the efforts to make us live that dream ;to be a pro cyclist . and yeah i want to see more content about pro cycling 😍
No, my dream would be travelling in the support car behind 😂 Would be awesome to spend a season supporting a team. I’m sure it would be as intense as some of those efforts, but in a different way. Awesome video. Thanks for capturing and sharing, Tristan
