I like Bali, but at the same time, it's so overly gentrified now, which may be an occurring symptom of over-tourism (and comes at the expense of locals, though I do not wish to speak on behalf of them). I guess it's a question of what counts as sustainable tourism.
Victor was chatting with our server at the natural wine bar about that- he’s originally from Canggu and saw it go from rice fields to hotels overnight. We asked him how he felt about that and he said it’s a double edged sword- one hand it gives locals job opportunities with other types of industries and on the other, like you said, over tourism and a lot of traffic.
I will give you perspective from the locals. Bali is one of the famous islands in Indonesia, I'm Indonesian btw. Bali is famous because of their tourism, beautiful beaches, and the natural environment. But lately Bali is famous because of cafes,bars, foreign restaurants & shops, it is because of the economy, and we need to expand many fields. Most of the citizens in Bali work in tourism, their economy depends on how Bali can make the most revenue. Bali also became the second highest investment in Indonesia after Jakarta (capital city of Indonesia). So no chance for now if you think about sustainable tourism, because of all the reasons above. Covid made everything changes, Bali collapsed because no one wanted to risk their life to go abroad for holiday at that time, so after that, Bali slowly came back to balance their economy
Can you guys put an average budget of your trips in the end? So we could understand what kinda budget to put if we wanna have the same kind of experience.
Absolutely love the video, the shopping, the cafe, the food etc. brought the other side of Bali that I didn't experience in my last visit. Now I want to go again!!

You should try Blacksand Villas Echo beach in Canggu next time. Next level and right in the center... We stayed there and think they are the most RU-vid villas in all Bali 😂

When in the region, almost annually, I spend most of my time in Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore. However, in 2018, I did return to Indonesia and decided on crazy, busy Jakarta of which I really liked. Jakarta was a different vibe from Bali. Plus, Bali is Hindu and Jakarta is Muslim. There is an above subtitle with slightly larger letters or normal size I guess I could say. However,there is a redundant subtitle below in small letters. I’ve only experienced this with your vids.
