Very nice informative video. During hatching the female budgie scratch a lot ... is it due to mites ? What instant remedy to take care of such situation ? As the nest can not be disturbed that might spoil the hatching process.
Thank you for this video! I have three small budgie babies, the first one hatched on March 10th, should I move the nesting box to the bottom of the cage . I worry about them falling out of the nesting box and getting hurt
somone please answer to this but all my budgies refuse to eat anything but millet and seeds. ive tried to feed them t hings like, boiled eggs, lettuce, and apple but they remain scared of it. i try to show them me eating it but nothing happens.
I want to know what to do when a baby bungie is hatch? Should I just let it be and let mama bungie do all the work? What food should I put for mama bungie to feed its baby bungie?
Actually a colony is not a bad thing, it's a matter of preference. If you are into heavy breeding, then breeding compartments, but if not and just let the birds be, then aviary/colony setup.
hello, i have a pair that have laid eggs and i think theyre too young. I know the hen is a year old but the male is not. i was not expecting egg laying and mating as i dont have a breeding box but my hen made a make shift nest. What do i do? do i leave the hen to raise the chicks or should i seperate them and remove the eggs? i am not a breeder and was not expecting eggs. i would love to keep them if i can but if it is harmful to my pets i dont want to hurt them
Nesting material like dried grass or shredded wood. Once they started shredding the paper or any thing around. It's time for you to prepare for breeding
@@BudgieWorld I have a similar budgie box to yours. I don’t like it very much because one time when j opened it a screw got loose and fell and broke two eggs good thing they were infertile
@@farfreez6367 depending in the brand, I never had this problem, make sure to have a good strong nesting box, it's better to pay couple of extra bucks, and have a better durability :)
I have three budgies 2 males and 1 albino female as told by the shopkeeper so should I seperate them? (The albino and a male is the pair I think so I should take out the other male ? Please reply! Your channel is so informative love your channel
Really cute I have two parakeets unless I fight a lot I love parakeet so much will any kind of bird I love how you're so cute🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🐤🐦 my parakeets are actually blue and white and black that's one and then others green and yellow they're so cute
I got my budgies a couple years ago and we have 2 males and 2 females in the same cage(because they’re social as you know) and 1 male and 1 female ended up becoming a pair I think(they kiss and “share” food and are always together) but the bad thing is, I got them from Petsmart and they’re really jumpy around me and don’t trust me and I can’t seem to get their trust. My female has been kicking all the seed out of the bowl even when we give her fruit or other foods to eat ):
I had the same problem. Not sure what your situation is now but, it's going to die eventually. Stress and them just being assholes which is what they're known for, they will die slowly or sooner
I know this answer is really late and you might've already gotten your answer, but to reassure you: you absolutely can! Just make sure that your dog hasn't recently had any fur treatments and all should be fine.
@@BudgieWorld hey budgie world. do you know how to stop your budgies from fighting. i only have 2 and someones i see them bonding other times fighting.
one thing I have learnt is they need an Audience. If you put them in a cage as suggested and they can't see other budgies they are less likely to breed
@@cloakanddagger1 true unless you have a loud household like a tv or radio is on 24/7 or have a pretty loud family they will breed. If it's to quiet they are less likely to breed.but normally they will breed regardless like mine did
I have 1 pair of English and Australian budgies my Australian pair have been nesting and hatching the eggs but I noticed that my female doent sit on the eggs very much and when she does and they hatch she wont feed the chicks. I'm just wondering if its something I'm doing wrong or if it's my female, (the female is an albino and the male is bright lemon yellow and is super freindly) the male tries but the chicks never seem to make it. They are a bonded pair
Hi.. my one budies layed eggs.. and after comes baby budgies after .. i made a new aviary ...after i change position of budies box to new aviary .. please tell me it dangerous or not ???...
Hi Since you said you can ask me question I have question for you Why are my budgies dont eat boiled eggs They only eat Millets and water Very little celery Thanks
What if your budgie lays eggs in a seed cup because there is no nesting box? If I add one and move the egg there, will they abandon it? It just got laid, so I don't know how many eggs there will be. He has been in with the 2 girls less than a month, whirlwind romance ;)
I have 7 budgies including the new pair I got I was told by the the seller he saw them mating the day before I got them do you think she will lay soon? she goes in the nest box for short periods.
Just got my pair of budgies 3 days ago and she started laying eggs today. . what are the "do's" i watched your donts. Didnt plan this yet was hoping to breed toward the end of year. But i guess she alrady had eggs when i got the pair. The owner was moving and couldent take them
1:20 yeah something I think people forget is that this is domestic breeding. It's not like you're replacing environmental stimulus for the successful to breed.
I have 2 budgies and they have their nest and had 3 eggs that hatched but one died. I decided to change them to a bigger nest box. The mom won’t go in. Will she abandon the 2 babies? Can someone help me please
My budgies have chicks hatching. 3 or 4 now, thus far. Several more eggs to go. Everything looks fine thus far. After this breeding, I wish to STOP. My plan will be two flight cages, one for each separated sex. Is this a good plan?? Can I keep everyone together, and prohibit breeding another way??? If sex separation into separate cages is needed - Whats the easiest method of separating all males from females???? Thank you so much for your videos and any advice you may have for me!!
what the temperature when Bugi stop breeding . we have a summer the winter are just 4 months . temperature get dawn to 2/c . In the summer it's will never cross 40 /c .
hi! does anyone know if budgies will bree do if their wings are clipped? i know they need their wings for balance etc but is it doable for them to breed with clipped wings?
I would like some help. I knew nothing aboit budgies. I bought a male and a female. They mated and had 2 chicks in December. They were a happy family in a big cage. But now mummy had laid 2 eggs that broke and 4 shes sitting on which i believe to be from one of her 7 month old chicks. I was shpcled to see the 2 chick boys fighting over mating with her. Twice i have seen them fighting wanting to mate hwr in the morning. But the mummy has just had 2 already in december. I feel sorry for her having another 4 already. Its seem8ng over crowded. She doesnt get chance to eat coz they always want to get on her when she comes out but i dont want to deprive her from being fed by the male or deprive the chicks when they hatch from being fed and kept warm by the male. Coz i noticed the males do alot of feeding and looking after their youg even more than the mothers after they r born. I feel mummy budgy needs a break. What do u suggest? Thanku
I have a question that I would really like an answer to. I like to travel with my budgie. When I go away for a few days is it okay to bring him with me?
i've never done it so im not an expert but i dont think you should bring them because it could be stressful for them. i usually just leave plenty of food, millet spray, treats, fresh vegetables and fruits and they should be good! :)
bird seed and water. Make sure they have a days supply of seed and water. add some grit in food . They chew the seed and bring it back up to feed bubs.
I hve 2 pairs in a single cage n both the female budgies lays eggs in a single nest n now chicks are out 4rm the eggs n both the female feed the chicks together
When buying a new breeding pair of birds, how long does it take to breed them? Ive recently bought a dna sexed male and female conures theyve never had babies yet.
Abeed, I used to have two Patagonian conures. One was DNA sex as female the other was not, however I believe she too was female. They have approximately a 30-year lifespan and it took mine approximately 15 years before either one laid eggs! They were highly territorial and possessive of them, downright mean in fact when I tried to clean the cage as I had no breeding box; I wasn't expecting eggs! Best of luck!
My female budgie laid eggs around 15 days ago. But after laying eggs she has started losing feathers in her chest and stomach region. Should I take her to a vet. Is it normal or anything serious. Please help.
My male budgie is only 7 months old but mating, after the female lays eggs,. the male is breaking the eggs but continuously it's mating. What to do now. Please explain.
@@applepiez5607 You can speray around inside without worries. Take the babies out if you like mom and day will leave too. I have 30 nest boxes and we sprayed all of them. all these bugs disappeared. no babies got sick or died.
So here's what ive done 1. My pair ended up breeding in march. They had their first clutch Around april but it was a massive failure resulting in only one chick who only survived because I had reared them. They also have deformed legs. 2. After a couple months for a break, they had their second clutch. What i did differently was adding unscented pine shavings to the wooden nest. Mine doesn't have a divot but i made a divot in the bedding. My female laid 8 eggs. I also make them hard boiled eggs everyday and give them calcium grit, mineral block, cuttlefish, and seed/pellet mix. 4 chicks have hatched and they are all healthy. I also avoided bothering the nest too much and only check in 3 times a day.
The hen usually dies. Feed the hen calcium and a small amount of linseed oil. You want prevention as I have taken budgie to vets and they still pass away due to egg bounding
