I love the hard ones but I hate the blocked hard ones! I struggle to find a "middle" shot. I have a hard fast shot and a slow spinny shot but its very hard to hit a fast spinny shot. More practice! :P
After for like maybe 5 years of abandoning table tennis, I re-pick up it again after watching you and your teammates playing table tennis against Chinese team which is really amazing this summer Tokyo Olympics Games. I used to play it for pure fun with no strategies or tactics at all(or sucks as they will put😂) but now for the first time, after watching your videos, Mr. Timo I realized I would probably need to improve my skills. So I invited my friend to play with me(luckily he likes playing table tennis too and is on the same level with me hahaha) So anyway, I really feel the improvement and vibe, I’m so happy. And um, any chances of you turning up in China again? I really wanna have a selfie with you together and perhaps an autograph of you this my lifetime, my idol Timo😭
Vielen Dank. Und bleib gesund. ;-)
Timo, I'm not sure if you are still keeping the channel active. But here I go. First of all I'm a big fan, and it's sad so hear you are retiring soon. I wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life. In regards of the should blade use, May I ask you please to go in depth when it comes to the use of should blade to better hit the ball? From other sports like basketball, it seems to be an essential part of their training to use the shoulder blade, for more strength with less effort. Apparently, it seems quite effective, as it seems to get more out of less energy applied. It would be much appreciated if you can talk about that, on the forehand and backhand use. And yes, please talk more about your backhand, which I really admire. Thank you very much in advance.
Timo please tell that Is body tension present during whole rally or at the backswing of forehand topspin and then after hitting the ball we have to relax ?Thank you timo you are doing a great job😊
Such a humble man! Thank you for the tutorial I haven't played competitive for 20 years trying to make a comeback boy I was shocked that my body is not moving stiff and timing is so bad also my rubbers are not up to par I have grubba pro carbon blade with butterfly sriver and dhs Pf4 lol I guess your tips to get a faster rubber is a must thank you.
I'm new to this channel and TT in general and lemme just say, you are an amazing teacher. I'm so happy to be taught by one of the best players in the world, and I look forward to learning more from you.
Nice tips, thanks! I struggle with getting spin into my forehand topspin, do you have any special tips on that? My technique is not that bad, but I think I cannot quite use my wrist and forearm well enough.
What is the difference between yours and Asia forehand? I feel Asians using their lat mainly in each shot. Like they are drawing an arch by the lat and abs.
but my dad always told me not to jump much or lift my left foot as a right hand player , every time i jump or lift my foot the ball will always drop to the net , but i still wonder why most athlete lift their legs and the ball still goes in.
The reason that you'd be told to make sure your left foot is down is so that you can transfer weight onto it. If you look at leg section in this video (part 2), you can see that Timo is pushing off with his left leg (as a left hander) and then pushing forward to step 'onto' his right foot. But if you take your front foot of the ground before you've pushed off with back one, then you tend to lose that power as you can't support your weight on just the back foot like that.
Great video. Do you have a theory Why Chinese players tend to have a more straight arm and European players more bent? What is the advantage of either? Wonder which one is better, obviously you both can play very well with the different styles :)
@@timoboll8381 Timo, tonight I really improved my win rate against two my main opponents! One of them is defender - I played better but still he wins more and I should watch your recent video about defenders again;)
I'll just ignore everything Timo said and focus on his last point, he says, " If cannot get a better topspin, just buy a faster blade, preferably from Butterfly! 😂😂😂
I'm not believing this tension theory.... I believe it's better to be relaxed & loose, & only tense up on impact. I have seen other coaches express this alternate idea.
Danke!
Hey, Timo. Is the ST handle Primorac Carbon the very best handle ever made? I have always thought so. The wings are in perfect position for it too. There really is nothing quite like it. You should probably go for the same speed as the Donic Waldner Legend Carbon, which is a slightly slower Primorac Carbon basically. But, have Butterfly make you one with your own colours, left handed wings (so you can stop using it backward), and with a ST handle exactly like the Primorac Carbon. I'd buy 3 of those in a heartbeat!
Timo, I'm just curious. You have always played with Butterfly, as they have always been your official supplier. However, why haven't you tried Tibhar for example? Have you ever played with Tibhar blades and rubbers? What is your opinion on the brand? I must say the new Tibhar Evolution Rubber Series are veeeery high quality! Thanks in advance!
Thank you. Why NOT using inside out swing path strokes which is more natural? Would that be the same response time ACTUALLY with outside in swing path strokes? Table tennis shall be played with forearm and body MAINLY? But NOT upper arm?
Timo, thank you for these tutorials! I noticed that when you finish your forehand stroke your forefinger separates from the racket. Is there a reason for that, meaning, does it provide you with some advantage?
These are essential tips. Looks easy when you are playing. For me as a recreative player it is impossible to do everything wright. But I enjoy trying it, thank you very much.
