I did high fashion editorial print for 17 years as a male model. I stopped because I got tired of it and male models don’t really make that much money, you’re in it because you enjoy it. One of the things that could’ve been mentioned here, and probably the most important attribute of all, is first impressions. Your attitude when you walk through the door is everything. Your self talk is something that you have to gain control of. What do you think on the inside shows on the outside. Be humble, be happy and most of all be respectful because everybody wants to be somebody, and generally people hate the person in the room who needs to be the center of attention. Be the person that everybody wants to look at not the one that everybody is forced to look at. You do that by showing heartfelt interest in other people, asking them how their day is, complementing them instead of waiting for them to complement you. Empathy, compassion and a true desire to interact with your fellow human being is the most beautiful quality there is. It can’t be faked, but you should always fake it till you make it, at least until it becomes a natural part of your own being.

I disagree... and as for the eyes, it can be turned on and off, Tyra Banks wasnt BSing about SMEYES (its the act of expressing intensity through your eyes, often done by lifting the LOWER lash line just a fraction, and not closing your upper eyelids at all, so you cant tell the persons eyes have changed shape... you just see this intensity (thats really a mix of concentration (to seperate the eye muscles so youre only lifting the bottom lid, and concentrating on doing it just the SLIGHTEST amount.... mixed with the exhaustion your eye muscles are going through, although it gets easier to do this the more you practice, at first you can only go short intervals before the muscles shake)

Loved this video! Thanks for posting. One thing that I learned in the modeling industry is that jawlines are also a facial feature agencies love. What are your thoughts on that? Many advertisements feature men and women with side angle portraits and they all usually have a sharp long jawline :)!

seems weird that modeling agencies would be constant in their preferences. I would expect them to change every season: one season freckles are in, the next they're out.

These standards pertain mostly to western countries, and not Asia. Freckles are considered equivalent to wrinkles in most of East Asia, because for Asians, freckles tend to appear later in life and is a sign of aging. The features that would be considered desirable in East Asia would tend to be Northern Asian features: Paler skin, higher nose bridge, pointy chin, smaller faces

Just found your channel, and love the content! :) I did some modeling when I was younger, but eventually stopped pursuing, now I'm in my mid 30s and would love to continue, just hard to find an agency for my age. Hilarious, they were filing their teeth. Thank you, this is all great information. I went to a modeling agency years ago and the gap in my two front teeth was not acceptable. I got braces and it's fixed. How times have changed. I have the other things except for maybe face symmetry. Slender bodybuilder physique. God bless you sir.
I had a retainer with a crank as a kid but instead of tighten my teeth it actually spread them apart so now i have a gap. I really wanted to get braces to close it but this just mad me more confident and makes me want to keep it😊
I have wanted to be a model for so long,my dream is to become a model it might sound cheesy but modeling makes me feel more included like its me and the camera and i'm free to make a picture into a story.I am 15 almost 16 and i'm kinda short 5,5 to be exact.I feel like I will get taller but i'm worried if I don't will my dream even come true?I know some models are my height but I see myself taller if that makes any sense.While I was watching this video I saw that I had some of the facile features I have a gap and freckles and I was usually supper insurer cure about it.But when I saw that people create there own it made me love mine a little more.I watch a lot of videos about modeling and your channel has helped me a lot.Thank you so much for making a you tube channel ,its helping me and I know for a fact it is also helping someone else.
Surely they succeed despite the gap in the teeth and freckles- which are not desirable at all, these flaws might make some people stand out from the crowd but by no means are a requirement to be a model.
More important than freckles are one’s lips. Beautiful shaped lips are a decisive feature (I‘m talking about the natural design of them and not fullness, as not all full lips are beautiful and vice versa). 💋
I have a tiny scar on the side of my face and want to do modeling, will that be a problem? I also have two different shaped eyes, which most people say they don’t notice until I point it out or take a picture at certain angles
