Seen them in concert numerous times throughout their careers. They’re one of my favorite bands and every album doesn’t disappoint.

I've seen both blink and Yellowcard twice. Tom DID suck, but after seeing them in June, I change my mind, he's so good now, he's getting that awesome voice back for blink! And Ryan, well, what is there to say? He's fucking amazing live! Booked my tickets to see them in Coventry March 2nd!

not a DVD release, and even if it is tuned, check out other performances. acoustic live performances for example. he has a brilliant voice. he went through surgery because his throat was messed up, take that into you judgement.

It's tough to make the claim based on a DVD release. Almost every single concert DVD released goes through a lot of touch ups and tunings in the studio. Stuff like this is usually a more accurate representation of what a band will sound like.

@PeanutButterGtr Ryan is not some 20-year-old dude anymore who smokes, drinks and does drugs. I doubt that he ever did drugs but he's certainly not doing them now. He is a responsible grown-up. He would not do drugs.

Dude, go to iTunes and download Yellowcard's live record "Live from Las Vegas at the Palms". Then come back and tell me he is a crappy live singer. His voice was bull before he had surgery, but after that it improved so well.

He is getting married and therefore quit the band to be able to spend more time with his family. Yellowcard were heading right back into the studio and back on tour, so he made the choice to leave the band. As far as I know he is working on new music though.

Ehh... I have to see them live someday.

@coolkazza888 If he was drunk he wouldn't have been able to see the fretboard, let alone play on it. His words aren't slurred, just weird. I think it's drugs.

Ok guys Ryan USED to do drugs like in the dark years like around Lights and Sounds and stuff but i'm pretty freakin sure he doesn't now especially during a peformance, you guys need to study up on your YC interviews. and he's not drunk either!

@PeanutButterGtr But you're accusing him of being on drugs during THAT (see above) performance. That's what pisses me off. He may have done drugs when he was young, but I highly doubt he does them now.

Before one of the songs at this show Ryan says that they woke up like 10 minutes before the show, so that may be a reason why he's not singing properly. But, c'mon, it wasn't that bad.

except for Ryan Key, it looks like the whole band has gained weight XD This was a surprisingly strong performance from Ryan on vocals, and the rest of the band was as strong as ever.

Amen. And about Tom Delonge: I love that guy, but unfortunately he really sucks live. He used to be better back in the late 90s/early 00s when he was just in Blink-182. His singing style changed as soon as he join AvA. I love all his bands, but I wish he would use "the right voice" for each band when singing live.

Ryan sounds fine, NOT perfect but not bad. I don't know what these other ears are hearing here making it sound like as if he is out of key or something ughh. Compared to others that really sound horrible live like Delonge. YC tours almost all year, who knows what day of the tour this was and singing every single day, Ryan can't sound legit in every performance. Some people just don't understand! I appreciate this real effort in singing with a little voice crack than lip syncing any day.

Ryan usually sings kind of crappy live but this was horrible. Perhaps that is why people think he's drunk or on drugs. I love Yellowcard by the way. A huge fan, but that doesn't mean I will pretend that Ryan sings well live, because he doesn't. Sounds awesome on the studio albums though.

You have many good points, but I was just theorizing over why people think he's drunk or on drugs in this clip. I know Ryan has sung much better than this, and his voice is unique in a way that made me feel that this band is better than others, but I can't enjoy this particular version of this particular song, because the vocals are too poor. I almost hope he was on drugs because that would explain it I guess. He should probably choose a lower key when performing live though.
