Dear Paula, I would like you to have my deepest, most grateful THANK YOU! I've had this almost unbearable, nagging feeling of "I must CREATE something!" since I was a child, but when it comes to it, I freeze in a terrified state of "doing it wrong". So I usually stick to crafts where the end result is predetermined and guaranteed, like friendship bracelets, crocheting or diamond painting. But I still feel something struggling to break free from inside of me. Your videos mean the world to me, they might just be the way to train myself to be brave, and shed my mental chains! What you do here matters a lot! :)
You have the best sketchbook ideas on YT. I LOVE that you show the times you wanted to stop or wanted to skip or not show us and how they ended up coming out well. I always feel so inspired after watching these.
I have loved watching your creativity and started painting abstract paintings, rather than my animal or scenery. I’ve created a few to sell and think you would be happy with my work. Thank you. You put enjoyment back into me. 😊❤❤
I'm obsessed with the yellow-y one where you kid of just let the paint flow with the water. It looks like a line of trees and the edge of a lake at sunrise. So prettttty! 💛
I didn’t realize I needed an art therapist until I found you and The Cassie Projects, ever since I have had so much more fun with my art and feel more relaxed instead of stressed out, my artists tantrums have been minimal and much more manageable 💚
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos. I discovered them while recuperating after surgery. And now, I go to bed excited about the page I will paint the next day. I had lost the ability to be excited about art anymore and always felt like I was being molded in my teacher's style... your playful manner makes creation a joy, once again.
I was feeling tense and, then I watched this video. You have such a calming way about you that it made be quickly feel better. Thank you. I will definitely be painting this weekend.
I looooooooove your videos!!! Thank you for the inspiration!🙏 Your calm and relaxing energy and your motherly vibes, make every videos a real joy to watch!❤ There's something nostalgic about it... 😊 Can't wait for the next one! Keep it up!!!🙌
This is a great video, thanks! I’ve wanted to learn how to paint for eons, but because I love realistic art, which I’ve yet to even come close to a fraction of a millionth of a percent of achieving, I’ve barely painted since treating myself to high end materials last December. I love your idea of just being abstract and flowy with your art, along with experimenting. This video’s given me the courage to just play around with my paints and see what nonsense I can create! Thanks. 😊
That was so much fun to watch! I can't wait to apply some of your techniques to get interesting textures and variations. Thank you for always entertaining me with pretty sketchbook ideas.
13:15 I actually think this one is my favorite. I haven't gotten any further in the video, but I hope you do a mock up of this one! I feel like it would look great as a big piece of art work on a wall. Edit: 😊 yes! That was great! I want this one on a huge canvas!
WOW! the first, brown page is beautiful! ❣❣❣ The first thing I saw in the alcohol drops was fried eggs, then I saw flowers. then I saw cute little ghost like critters. your tree is very pretty. I'm sorry to hear you have trouble with back pain and such.... My neck and shoulders are always very tight, tense, and sore.... but some days are worse than others. The 6th page (abstract) is beautiful too. ❣❣❣ I love each page. and I enjoyed this video. 😃👍
Love the veiled signature on the tree. And thanks for sharing your thoughts on the physical side of painting, drawing and creating. It's so often glossed over when you think about it. Appreciate your honest thoughts on this! Not sure I often reach that "relaxed, meditative state", but it's nice to hear your perspectives here! 🙂
PS: I think I might have counted more than one "third idea" in this video. "Third playful idea and now we're going to work with gradients..." - "Moving on to my third idea, I'm bringing that Inktober sketchbook...." Wasn't there another video where you art exceeded your arithmetics considerably...?! ;-)
You are so welcome! I’m happy to share because I too find it’s too romanticized now in social media… not only the physical side but also what an art practice is and isn’t Thanks for watching always!
Haha it did! And actually when I was doing the voice over I said at one point sorry I don’t know what idea this is (again) but I cut that off because I realized it was the last one 🤣🤣🤣 I don’t know what it is about creating videos that make me forget how to count!
You have fun and awesome ideas!! 🥰 They all turned out so pretty!! 😍 Of course, I loved the colorful ones, but I think the pink/red tree was my favorite!! 💞 I think it would be cool to watch you create some of your life-size wall art!! 🤗
You often show your paintings/designs as a virtual room sized framed print but have you ever actually done this in real life and, if so, how would you go about it? BTW you are one of my favourite artists on this platform. All your videos are so inspiring. ❤
Thank you so much!!! I’m really honored by that! Yes! I’ve done it many times! I’ve donde it to create prints out of smaller paintings and to show collectors mockups of how a commission might look After I play in the Smartist app, I use professional printing services to print on canvas. Your source image needs to be really good
@@bycreativepaulathanks so much for replying to my question. I had a look at the app and it is very interesting. Do you use a professional photographer to digitise your artwork ready for printing or do you do it yourself? Sorry for all the questions 😊
Wonderful content, and beautiful art! (As always). Thanks for the ideas. Maybe I will try your salt flowers. Take care, and see you next week! YAY❣ XOKO❣❣❣
I have just visited your Instagram page for the very first time and……Oh WOW !! 🤩✨🤩💕🏆🎉💫🌟 I absolutely love your amazing, ingenious, unique, fabulous and delightful magazine transformation pages, Paula !! Have you considered doing them here on RU-vid ? I actually think they would make a great mini art course ! 🤩💕
Hey Paula, again a great video, I really love your content and it really inspires me! It actually inspired me so much that I took some art supplies to my vacation. Maybe some day you could come up with ideas that you can create during a vacation with limited art supplies and maybe even in a train where you can't really be precise. I'd love to see some of your ideas as my sketchbook is still quite empty 😂 keep going and thanks!
I love all your sketchbook videos, so I know this is going to be good! I need to do some homework first so this is going to be my reward when I'm done 😂
It’s honestly so hard to explain! Because everything gives me an idea and then I combine stuff in my head like a crazy person! But most of my best ideas come from repetition if that makes sense ☺️
My problem is that I have a very vivid imagination and I can’t seem to get the image in my head on paper. I enjoy drawing anyway but sometimes I get so frustrated. I like coming up with characters and I’ve been trying not to be so hard on myself.
Thank you. I had a terrible wreck on a horse just out of training today and landed on my coccyx which is already the source of chronic pain. At first, doodling was helping me and zentangle things but right now the pain is too too much. I always have to paint from bed due to my pain, but tonight I can’t even sit up. I saw your idea about channeling the pain into marks from a past video and I’m going to give it a try, using watercolor crayons. Sorry to write so long, just wanted you to know how much help you are for those of us with chronic pain. 🥹❤️
@@user-lp1uy4tw6p it sure did. My hubby even glanced at my sketchbook and said “ouch” and it was just an intuitive (as they say) portrayal of radiating pain. And this morning, by God’s grace, the pain has eased substantially. Thank you for your sweet comment. 🥰
