Thank you for mentioning the housing crisis here in Portugal! As a Portuguese living in Oporto, the real skyrocketing prices are in Lisbon and Oporto not in the countryside. And we need more people to come to the rural areas, that are deserted, and fill them with life, with children laughter and opportunities to work. That also helps the local communities. My take on the matter is: welcome to all who come from good to do good :)
What a fabulous video. I remember seeing that show live John in Scarborough, it was a coach trip my Mum took me on. I loved it. Fast forward, here I am now at La Petite Maison, and people tell me how lucky I am. Twenty seven years ago, we took a leap of faith, before the internet, before You Tube and all we know now. We took a leap of faith and bought a village house with no mains electricity, no plumbing, a leaking roof and a chewed over garden but oh boy did it have charm. We named it the perfectly imperfect house and it’s stuck. You have to have a dream, only then can you have a dream come true. Take care xx

I love my house and my neighbours are great and mum and dad lived up the road so I new I would be happy here. Lived in the area for 53 years and in my house for 36 yrs. I don't think I will ever move. I love your videos they give me some ideas as to what i want to grow or try to grow so thank you for that want to try okra next year.

I love my house too…I’ve lived in it for 45 years! My daughter who’s also 45 was born in it and she has lived in our road all her life…but we love our home in Portugal too…the best of both worlds!

Yes, your reason for giving your children the gift of your particular day of life is the most important reason you could have given us. They àre truly privileged to have such a magical life. They will grow into wonderful adults, very well balanced and knowledgeable about real life.. they are so fortunate to have such parents and the life you are making possible for them.

Thank God there are still countries away from the Uk where you aint having to keep up with the jones or smith, affordable to live, a laid back attitude, took a bit of time to get use to the Manjana❤the boys growing up like I DID in the 70 grandparents had a small homestead in germany❤

I know how it is hard until you find the right place which we did for France, Unfortunately due to my husband dying a week or so ago all the dreams are now gone. I am very sorry to hear your sad news. Please accept my condolences. I lost my husband seventeen months ago and I am still trying to get over the shock. You are absolutely correct when you say just go for it. We were too late for our dreams. We were extremely happy but our dream was to retire and travel. We just didn't make it. I hope you managed a good few years of living your dream. I wish you Peace xx

I enjoy your videos very much. As I say to my children follow your 💓 and you will be alright. You live your dream and yes, living a dreamed live will not say that it isn’t hard work. It is hard work but it is rewarding and worth it. 4 years ago my husband and me bought an old French farmhouse (we are 63 and 66). We can’t be there all the time so if we are there is always “something” to do (mostly in the garden) but we love it and feel fortunate. Thank you for sharing your wonderful live with us.

Being in my mid 50’s brings forth the question of how do I want to live out the remaining years assuming all goes well with my health? For me it’s being out there in the world exploring…. Creating my life along the way
