People are overblowing this Dolphins demise. Tua was playing like pure horseshit last game, literally couldn’t complete a pass past 10 yards and Achane still had a huge game. We’ve seen plenty examples of hyper talented RBs producing on bad offenses, just look at Breece last year (who people were also calling a sell at this point in the season FWIW). As long as whoever is back there can throw an accurate crosser or screen the Dolphins will still be a threat. Achane is going to be fine. I don’t know how you see Achane catch 7 balls behind the LOS 2 games in a row and think he’s QB/offense dependant, it’s not like he’s running super complex routes 20+ yards downfield.

Achane: the usage is solid and the targets will increase with a sub-par qb. It does cap his ceiling not having a dynamic offense means it’s less likely he gets an explosion game like last year. But point difference will be negligible. (Instead of 28pts he gets 22pts) And in 5 weeks Tua is expected back. Hold Hold Hold. Do not let someone scare you into selling achane.

Not sure why more people don’t understand this. If they’re behind it won’t be Dobbins losing his touches, it’ll be Gus. His whole purpose is to drain the clock. Dobbins actually has the potential to break off big runs so they’re still going to use him. Steelers have played the Falcons (Bijan had a decent game) and the Broncos who are putrid. The Chargers have a top 5 O-line and are a dedicated run team, Dobbins will have a fine game regardless of gamescript. They’ll play to control the clock, it won’t be Herbert abandoning their identity and dropping back 50 times to force it to Josh Palmer and Quentin Johnston

Bro the fact you just said chargers were dominating both games is how I know you don’t even watch the film. Week 1 chargers scored 3 3 3 in 3 Qs, while raiders scored the first touchdown in the first Q. And chargers never took the lead until the 3rd Q. Don’t know how that = dominating the whole game when in reality they didn’t even have momentum until the 4th. Now vs Carolina, yes they were up 20 at the half but JK already got majority of his points by then… you’re insinuating that JK is only scoring points because of large margin leads which is entirely false. You need to watch the film if you’re gonna tell us what’s going on..

Jk being lower then rb 24 is insane which is already really good. He is going off stats chargers are projecting to be one of worst offenses for a reason if u actually watch the games you realize they have no receiving options, they have zero offense schemes it’s really can my RBs bring me up the field that’s it (Justin Herbert hasn’t thrown for 200 yards yet) when they go against pit (an actual good defense) you will see why there proj so low

Tua could be back in 4 weeks, I am not at all interested in offloading Achane. The whole bet here is if he gets injured, not if he can produce, he's already proved he can. I'm actually fine with Mostert taking some of his workload. It reduces his injury risk, and he's already shown how efficient he can be without having a massive workload.

@@brocka7758 yeah that’s my idea. they literally always start horrible. i traded for Chase two years ago and won my championship. and it’s basically the exact opposite with the RB depth lol. Achane is my only good week to week starter at RB but if i did this trade then my 2 WRs and Flex spot would be CeeDee, Chase, and MHJ. my line of thinking is that with WRs that good i can more than survive bad play at RB. but the reality of what my RB depth would be is scary for sure and that is my only hang up.

I can't really give advice there, it could go either way. Go with your gut.

I would not sell Achane. In week 1 with Mostert healthy they specifically left Achane in to punch in a TD at the goal line. There’s a chance that he was dealing with something even before he was sat for week 2 but I’m not selling Achane out of fear. This is one of the few backs in the NFL that can bust a 60 yard TD and imo you can’t sell that potential away based on fear of injury or fear of less opportunities

Not selling Achane unless you receive J. Gibbs in return. The magic about pass catching RBs is that they remain in the field even 2-3 TDs down. Plus, any scared training camp qb would dump a lot of quick passes for him. I will admit the TD upside is going down.

I don’t mind the selling high here for Achane. Think of it this way.. there’s potential right now to get a 2 for 1 for him. If you’re lacking in a certain position you could get some great value band even some depth. With the amount of usage Achane is about to receive, his injury probability just went up as well.

I know the general community is panicking on dolphins players right now, but it feels like this may actually be a contrarian opportunity to buy talent. Here’s a question - do we really think tua was good? Or that he’s leaps and bounds better than Huntley, who will likely be playing in week 2? Tua manages games well and can push the ball down field but McDaniel is a very solid scheming coach and will put his QB in a position to succeed. I think once Huntley is up to speed he could make that offense move up and down the field. Look what he did a few years ago with the ravens with a far, far worse cast of offensive talent. 🤷‍♂️

I really disagree with selling Achane. With a downgrade at QB Achane should get a ton of receiving work and he has the speed to make something out of nothing. With Tompson in last week in the 4th quarter he had 4 receptions on 4 targets for about 50 yards or so not including any ground game usage.

10 Team PPR 1QB: As a team with RB depth and Kupp missing time, should I shave off someone like Brian Robinson for Amari Cooper? Another deal thrown my way was giving up Dobbins, Olave, Higgins for Chase and Jeudy. The owner was not willing to replace Jeudy with Aaron Jones so I'm probably not going through with that. Team: Kyler // Kamara, Dobbins, BRobJr, Monty, Javonte, Brooks (IR) // Jettas, G Wilson, Olave, Kupp (IR), Higgins, BTJ // McBride Before anyone asks, my leaguemates tend to draft RB heavy in the first 4 rounds, so I went four straight WRs to soak up value. I don't like the Achane take, the risk/reward isn't there for me. Let's say no injuries happen to both players after trade: IF it works out, you likely get a slightly better value with Jefferson (!currently injured!). BUT if it goes wrong and Achane continues to have THAT season and finishes RB1 overall, it would be gut-wrenching. I guess it depends on format and if you got lucky with also having RBs like Breece+Kamara or something, but it would not feel good for me to click accept on that.

Look at the Chargers schedule. After week 6 it starts to get brutal. Might not be many games where they’re heading the ball off because they have a large lead

@@thetank5642they’re not going to stop being a run-first team because matchups get harder. They have one of the best run-blocking offensive lines in the league, it’s their entire identity. Even if that’s the case Gus will lose touches, not Dobbins.
